-Keybinds: Keybinds are not all currently set, so look through them on your first playthrough.

-Creating New World: Using Biomes O' Plenty is recommended for your world type. Starting a new world takes some time, depending on your hardware, but will be quicker after the initial creation.

 

Warning! Multiplayer has NOT been tested prior to release, so group up at your own risk. This will be tested for future versions.

Fowleri is my passion project.

 

This modpack was born through a desire to see the "Scape and Run: Parasites" mod be pushed to its limits, while giving the game deep immersion and replayability. Minecraft shouldn't have to be played the same way twice and I've put countless hours into creating an experience that allows the player to take different paths that lead to their survival.

 

Fowleri is intended to be immensely difficult and you WILL die often.

 

There are ~200 mods with specific purposes to insure a new and exciting adventure. I've added countless tweaks/adjustments to provide the experience I've always wished to have myself. Here are some of the things you'll find on your journey.

 

-Over 500 quest nodes for you to complete, assisting you in progressing from the beginning to the final fight. Access these on the top left of your screen on the inventory window.
-Scape and Run: Parasites, the mod this pack is based around, contains dozens of dangerous and terrifying creatures that will never stop spreading until they take over the world.
-Hundreds of new weapons and armor, giving you a plethora of combinations to choose to assist you against the Parasites.
-Mine and Slash gives each piece of equipment randomized statistics so you will never find the same gear twice, as well as strengthening your character and unlocking new gear with the more mobs you kill.
-Level Up! Reloaded allowing you to level your character how you see fit, gaining bonus stats the further you progress.
-ToughAsNails will turn environments harsh with hot summers and freezing winters.
-ScalingHealth makes mobs grow in strength the longer you play, never letting the game feel easy.
-Countless dungeons, structures, improved towns, and more await you in the wilderness.
-MrCrayfish's Gun Mod for those who prefer guns to bows, though be mindful of Parasites adapting to your barrage of bullets.
-Pam's Harvest Craft to keep your belly full and your thumb green during the Parasite Apocalypse.
-Fishing Made Better, Modular Turrets, Tinkers' Construct, Bountiful Baubles, the mods go on and on. I've provided a complete list at the bottom of this page, so feel free to take a peek.

  

 

Automatic Installation

It's strongly recommended to use the auto-install w/ CurseForge's launcher, see link at top of page.

Search for "Fowleri" in the Modpacks, install, and start playing!

 

Manual Installation

Forge: Use the latest version (2860) for Minecraft 1.12.2 Link

 

Java Arguments

Change "-Xmx4G" to either "-Xmx6G" or "-Xmx8G" in the front of your Java Arguments to however much RAM you want to dedicate to the modpack. I recommend 6-8GB minimum, especially if you're using intense shaders/texture-packs. It should look like this when you're done.

I personally run at least 12GBs but I also use high render distances and heavy shaderpacks.

 

Files

Copy all of the modpack files into your Minecraft directory, making sure your mod/config folders are empty, as other mods could conflict and cause the game to crash.

Download OptiFine Link and place it in your mods folder.

 

Optional

Download Shaders Link and place them in your shaderpacks folder in your Minecraft directory. If the folder does not exist, create your own named "shaderpacks" and place them in there.

Download Resource Packs Link and place them in your resourcepacks folder in your Minecraft directory. If the folder does not exist, create your own named "resourcepacks" and place them in there. Be sure to enable any resourcepacks you're using in your Minecraft options.

Download Tissou's Zombie Pack Link and follow the above instructions for resourcepacks.

Download Scape and Run: Parasites Resource Pack Link and follow the above instructions for resourcepacks for 32x textured parasites. WARNING: This does beef up the hardware requirements of your computer to run this modpack as smoothly.

 

 

Due to the hardcore nature of Fowleri, dying many times before you get the hang of it is expected. Here are some helpful tips to make your start a little easier.

 

-Zombies and Parasites can break blocks. At the start, zombies breaking blocks/pillaring to reach you means you need a base made up of harder materials than just wood. Try various forms of bricks/stones (Stonebrick, Brick, Iron Bars, Iron Doors, Obsidian etc.) crafted at your bench to solidify your defenses. However, the further the Parasites evolve, the more likely they will be able to break even the strongest of blocks. Sky, Bedrock, and Ocean bases are strongly recommended when you're first starting, as nothing can break bedrock and you will have very little trouble if you're positioned too high up/far out for mobs to target you.

-You will need a regular food source, as food goes bad over time. Try building a garden or farm after you harvest seeds or animals from the wilderness. Eating the same thing over and over will result in lower amounts of hunger restored, until you change your diet.

-Use your vein miner (Default keybind: ~ Key) to chop trees and mine ores.

-Don't forget to choose a specialization and invest XP into your character once you reach XP lvl 5. Your character development will hugely impact your success. You can access this from an icon on the left in your inventory.

-Follow the various quest trees in your menu, as many are there to assist in your survival. Quests will provide you with resources such as experience, gear, and food that you need to survive. Remember, knowledge is power.
