Armor Underwear Mod [FORGE]
What This Mod Does
The mod is primarily a utility for the Tough As Nails mod in Minecraft 1.12.2 or for the Survive mod in Minecraft 1.16.4: it lets you add (and remove) special liners to your existing armor -- underwear, for better temperature control. Basically you can add the cooling or heating attributes of each mod's builtin warm or cool armors without giving up any additional protection of your advanced or custom armor. If you've disabled TAN's or Survive's temperature feature, you don't really need this mod unless you're interested in the some of the specialty liners.
The mod includes a few specialty liners that are useful in general; for example there are specialty liners that add a fire/burn shield to your armor and covers (overwear) that add camouflage.
Armor Underwear is designed and tested as a Vanilla++ mod, so whether the method it uses to install liners works on specialized armors (like those created with mods like Construct's Armory or Silent's Gems) depends on how those armors work. Unless these mods have their own custom TAN/Survive integration, armor underwear should work OK once you've added their armor names to the mod's configuration.
Mod Requirements
Minecraft 1.16.4
- Carrots Lib 2.0b3
- At least Forge-1.16.4-35.1.13
- Survive-1.16.5-3.1.2 (do NOT use the 1.16.4 version!)
Minecraft 1.12.2
Feature Summary [Tough As Nails, 1.12]
- Out-of-the-box the liners work with vanilla armor. You can add any armor you want via the configuration file; examples are included in the initial generated file for you to follow.
- There is a cooling liner and warming liner for every piece of standard armor: helmet, chestplate, leggings, and boots. Each liner adjusts your temperature by 1 like the TAN armor pieces do. Simple liners can be stacked. A fully lined set of armor can adjust your temperature by 9 points which is twice what the TAN armors do.
- You can reuse your existing TAN armor as lining.
- You can un-line your armor using Liner Snips. The snipped liner is returned to you for reuse later.
- [Optional] Goo Paks are a carry item that lets you add small amounts of cooling or warming for a fixed amount of time. They're like the hand warmers or dampened neck gaiters you might use when going hiking in real life. Disabled by default.
- [Optional] Armor Underwear includes is trio of specialty liners called "Ozzy," "Ollie," and "Otto" that provide automatic temperature adjustment and protection even under harsh conditions. Disabled by default. If enabled, these items are to be found rarely in loot chests.
Feature Summary [Survive]
- Out-of-the-box the liners work with vanilla and Survive's armor. You can add any armor you want via the configuration file or data packs; examples are included in the initial generated file for you to follow.
- There is a cooling liner and warming liner for every piece of standard armor: helmet, chestplate, leggings, and boots. Each liner adjusts your core temperature ~.25-.28°C. Simple liners can be stacked. A fully lined set of armor can shift your core temperature by 2-3°C.
- You can apply linings to existing Survive armor as lining.
- You can un-line your armor using Liner Snips. The snipped liner is returned to you for reuse later.
- [Optional] Goo Paks are a carry item that lets you add ~.5°C cooling or warming for a fixed amount of time. They're like the hand warmers or dampened neck gaiters you might use when going hiking in real life. Only goo paks activated and held on your hotbar affect your body temperature.

Is it possible to add new armor by mod id, or do I have to add every single piece individually? I'm using the 1.12.2 version.
In reply to TheGreatCirno:
Yes I'm afraid that is the only way to add armor pieces for the 1.12 version of the mod.
Is there anybody with some sort of spare time to teach me or show me how to integrate this with "easy steel" mod? i saw the config but dont get how its done
In reply to iobiarg:
First say what version of the mod you're using. Next provide the name(s) of the armor items you want to add (eg 'minecraft:diamond_helmet'). Overall: Find the category of the armor piece you want to add (eg 'boots' vs 'chestplates') then paste your armor item names in that section in your config file. For 1.16 you can also just add the mod name to the 'allowed_modlist' config option.
Hello, do liners only work with vanilla armor in 1.16.5? I could not get it to combine with any modded armor. And I can't fing a config file in the config folder.
In reply to WenXin2:
The default configuration is for vanilla armors and a few more popular 1.16 armor mods (like Silent's Gear).
You can add your armors through configuration by: allowing liners for any armor, allowing liners for armor from a particular mod, or allowing armor piece-by-piece (eg a specific armor or armor piece). Not sure where you're looking for your config files...the file is 'wabbity_armorunder.toml' and it should be in the standard .minecraft/config directory. The options have descriptions and examples you can follow.
In reply to The_Wabbit0101:
Ah, ok. I didn't think to check the W's. I looked for a file named "armorunder.toml".
Hello, does this work with the Survival Overhaul mod?
In reply to WenXin2:
No. That mod is less than 1 week old and is still under heavy development.
In reply to The_Wabbit0101:
Ah, ok
In reply to The_Wabbit0101:
Understandable, guess I won't be using your mod then since it is the best temp mod we have right now in 1.16.5. When you do support it though, would gladly use your mod. I think it's a great idea overall and am happy you have made it.
In reply to The_Wabbit0101:
Now that there have been a few more weeks under development, would you consider collabing with the Survival Overhaul author? With TAN announcing they will only be supporting the thirst mechanic, SO is more or less the defacto temp mod until 1.17
In reply to Alaberti:
Not sure why you say SO is the "defacto" temp mod? The Survive mod supports both thirst and temperature right now (I use thirst in my pack) and is much further along in its development and user base. I will look at SO at a later time. Also, if you really want to track this, create an enhancement request on the Issue tracker instead of replying to old CurseForge comment responses.
In reply to The_Wabbit0101:
Whoa, sorry, my bad
Is it just me but does anyone else have a warning saying missing file ENABLE TEMPERATURES file missing?
or just me
In reply to adjiadioashd:
Provide some more detail (use issue tracker or provide a link to pastebin): where is this warning (screen or logs)? What versions are you using (Forge,ArmorUnderwear,Survive). What config options do you have set? Is this preventing you from playing?
Thanks for supporting Survive - I was thinking about trying that mod out and this will be a great addition.
Possible idea - on 1.16.x provide special seperate liner slots using Curios - which means the armor/liner combo is not required.
