This is the Forge version of the mod, if you're looking for Fabric click here.
Equipment Compare is a configurable client-side mod that simply makes it easier to compare equipment at a glance. Highly useful in a modded environment with lots of unique items to compare!
This mod works differently than most tooltip "comparison" mods--it just shows a tooltip for what you're already wearing next to the tooltip for what you're hovering over. By doing it this way, there is much wider support for new stats and features added by other mods.
This mod requires Iceberg, you can download it here.
Client / Server
This mod is fully client-side.
Configuration
By default, you can show comparison tooltips by holding the shift key and hovering over an item. This is configurable as a keybind in the inventory section of the controls menu.
The configuration file for the mod also has options to reverse this behavior (always show comparisons unless the key is held), as well as color and text options for the "equipped" badge that shows above tooltips.
Additionally, you can specify a list of item IDs to blacklist if you'd like to disable comparisons for certain items.
You are free to use this mod in modpacks.

No chance to get this working for 1.12 right ?
In reply to TheRazedOne:
I do plan to port some more of my mods to 1.12 in the future, and Equipment Compare will likely be one of them. I don't have any sort of estimated time until it happens unfortunately.
In reply to Grend_G:
I second this request -- 1.12.2 would be amazing!
Thanks :)
Heya guys, I'm currently working on a Legend of Zelda-inspired modpack full of customized mechanics, subtle worldbuilding, and many fun incentives for exploration. Unfortunately, LOZ modpacks are almost nonexsistant, especially standout ones. That's what I'm trying to change. It'll require alot of support from the community, so go give the pack a test run and tell me your criticisms, I'm open to anything!

Thanks to the Grend_G for the Equipment Compare mod!
1 - You should really put the "By default, you can show comparison tooltips by holding the shift key and hovering over an item. This is configurable as a keybind in the inventory section of the controls menu." part of the description in bold or in a different color cuz it took me ages of looking and trying stuff, literal days, until I finally saw that small line at the very end of the mod''s description.
2 - Does not work well with ModernUI. Any chance of compatibility being added?
if this mod is client-side only please mark it as client-only using this

currently having this mod installed client side causes incompatible mod-list warning when joining a server without this mod
In my game, I found such a problem, perhaps in conflict with the Modern UI, but I like these two mods very much. Is there any solution?

Awesome Mod, but I find some issue with Sophisticated Backpack...

and also, it have issues with modernUI.
Hey, awesome mod!
I did find an issue on 1.16.5 when using it together with Legendary Tooltips (another of your great mods!): seems like an offset calculation error when drawing the top part of the tooltip. See picture below.
Minecraft version: 1.16.5
Equipment Compare version: EquipmentCompare-1.16.5-1.2.5.jar
Legendary Tooltips version: LegendaryTooltips-1.16.5-1.0.2.jar
I would say it comes from this line of code on your git project, but I'll let you investigate if you got the time!
Anyways, thank's for creating all these awesome mods which greatly improve playing Minecraft!

Hey, thanks for the bug report! After testing I am surprised this slipped through the cracks, it's so obvious haha. I've just uploaded version 1.2.6 that fixes this bug. Also thank you for all your supportive words, it means a lot to me. :)
In reply to Grend_G:
Awesome, thanks! :)
1.16.5-1.2.5 does not compare weapons or tools, only armor.
In reply to p1ut0nium_94:
Interesting, I don't seem to be able to recreate this issue. To compare tools and weapons, make sure you have one of the items selected in your hotbar. (That's how the mod knows what tool/weapon you have "equipped".)
Any chance this mod can have a blacklist of item IDs to not enable this on? We would really need it for ATM6 especially when hovering over Sophisticated Backpacks. Would love it if you'd come on our discord and ping me about it :)
In reply to TheLexxie:
dont use ATM6 but I agree
In reply to SovLV:
Just wanted to let you know, I actually just implemented this feature earlier today! Try out the latest version to test it out. :)
In reply to Grend_G:
Thank you very much for implementing user requested features! :)
Fantastic mod.
I found that in the last verison only tools or armor can be compared, sword could not be compared.
Is this a bug?
