Rusty Sink 5
The fifth Rusty Sink pack is here.
Like the previous versions, this is a kitchen sink pack with a little bit of everything, but this time around a lot of the mods ended up working together better than I expected. Exploration is the biggest focus, with automation, gear progression, building, farming, and Cobblemon all feeding into it.
The first thing you'll probably notice is just how much stuff there is to find.
The world is packed with structures from a bunch of different mods. You'll run into huge capitals, dungeons, underground villages, archaeology sites, abandoned camps, improved mineshafts, underwater ruins, Nether structures, and plenty of random things scattered around the world. It feels like there's always something worth checking out while exploring.
Cobblemon is also a major part of the pack. Pokémon spawn naturally throughout the world, giving you another reason to explore different biomes and travel farther from home. Building a team happens naturally alongside normal Minecraft progression instead of feeling like a separate game.
For gear progression, Silent Gear is one of the stars of the pack. Instead of replacing your tools every few hours, you can build and customize gear from materials you discover throughout your adventures. Finding a rare material in some forgotten dungeon can actually change what equipment you decide to make next.
Create and its add-ons provide most of the tech side of the pack. Whether you want a simple farm or a giant factory full of moving parts, there are plenty of options. Storage systems, automation, transportation, processing chains, and even some gunsmithing all tie into the Create ecosystem.
There are also plenty of side paths if that's more your thing:
- Experiment with Alchemistry
- Cook hundreds of foods with Pam's HarvestCraft
- Grow resources using Botany Pots
- Explore expanded Overworld and Nether generation
- Travel by ship, plane, elevator, or Create transport systems
- Build bigger bases with tons of decorative blocks and furniture
On top of all that, the pack includes a large number of performance and quality-of-life mods to help keep things running smoothly despite the amount of content.
At the end of the day, Rusty Sink 5 is meant to be the kind of pack where you pick a direction, start walking, and end up getting distracted by five different things before you ever reach your destination.
