Attention!
Due to a breaking change in Forge Mod Loader, users of Forge Mod Loader version 1.14.4-28.0.45 and onwards should use FastLeafDecay v17.
Users of older versions of Forge Mod Loader for Minecraft 1.14 should continue to use FastLeafDecay v16.
FastLeafDecay
A simple Minecraft Forge mod that speeds up leaf decay after you cut down the wood in a tree. By default it will only take about five seconds before all leaves are gone.
Mod review, thanks to beardedgoof!
Requirements
Only servers need to have this mod, so if you're playing on a server that has it installed you will not need to install it on the client. You can have it installed on the client, though it will not have any effect.
Compatibility
This mod will speed up leaf removal of trees from the following mods, in addition to the default Minecraft trees:
- 1.7:
- Natura
- IndustrialCraft 2
- Minefactory Reloaded
- Auto Sapling
- 1.8:
- Auto Sapling
- 1.9:
- Industrialcraft 2
- Biomes o' Plenty
- Auto Sapling
- 1.10
- Auto Sapling
- Biomes o' Plenty
- Forestry
- IndustrialCraft 2
- 1.11
- None tested yet, will probably work with most mods.
- 1.12
- Biomes o' Plenty
- Natura
- Tinkers' Construct
- Twilight Forest
Mods that haven't been tested should not pose any issues. If those mods add trees that are related to the vanilla Minecraft trees, their decay will be sped up as well. Other mods that don't inherit the Minecraft leaves functionality (such as Thaumcraft) will not work unless I specifically support them.
Configuration
To configure the decay rates, check out the config in the serverconfigs folder of your world.
Known (compatibility) issues
There are currently no known compatibility issues with this mod.
Modpacks
Feel free to add this mod to your pack. No permission required! I would appreciate a line in the comments though.
does it work with 1.16.4 biomes of plenty
Hi. Sorry to be a bother, but does anyone know what version of 1.16.4 forge this mod is compatible with? Minecraft is saying it's made for an earlier version than 35.1.10
1.16.4 PLEASE LIKE WHO MAKES STUFF ON 1.15.2
Hey, I am trying to play with the mod on 1.16.4 and I downloaded version 25. Anyway, I can't use this mod because, Minecraft says, it is incompatible. The mod is made for an older version. Do you know what my problem is? I really want to use this mod! :(
Hey, I'm trying to change the config in version 1.7.10 because it's currently way to fast for me but it doesn't give me any option when I go to 'Mods' ingame and eventually on the mod itself. Also I can't seem to find an option when I try to open the file. Help would be much appreciated, because I really like the idea!
In reply to Forge_User_67397143:
Hey Milley20,
You should be able to find the config file for this mod in the configs subfolder of your Minecraft profile. Depending on which launcher you use that's in a different spot. 1.7.10 has been a while, but I believe there is a button to "open mods folder" within Minecraft. From there you just go 1 folder up and find the configs folder there.

Thank you so much! Finally I know how to change the config of Minecraft mods easily
Does Fast Leaf Decay work on 1.16.4?
In reply to morekerosine:
Yes. Most mods from 1.16.2 and 1.16.3 should work with 1.16.4, as long as the developer didn't cap the forge or MC version in the mods.toml file.
In reply to ultranine1:
Why doesn't it work on my 1.16.4.? I installed the right file but it is "incompatible".
In reply to hintaleitnadave:
Are you using the most recent release of the mod? Make sure you have the most recent forge version as well.
In reply to morekerosine:
Hey morekerosine,
You can try. I haven't tested it yet. If it doesn't work, I'll try to make a build for it soon.
In reply to olafskiii:
I just tested it myself and it seems to work fine.
In reply to morekerosine:
Thanks! I'll update the description.
Anyway to disable fast leaf decay on a server? For testing purposes (do not want to remove the mod)
In reply to TheSterFish:
Hey TheSterFish,
If you mean while the server is running, no. If restarting is an option I guess you can change the config to very high values, which should be about the same as disabling. Or you can rename FastLeafDecay-*.jar to FastLeafDecay-*.jar.disabled or something.
Hi, I put together a server with this in it, but it doesnt seem to have generated a config file. I'm using v25 for 1.16.3, if that helps. Thanks!
In reply to EmpressTerrawynn:
Hey EmpressTerrawynn, the config file should be inside the world save folder. I can't seem to figure out how to make it global.. ;(
In reply to olafskiii:
Ok, thank you so much for the response. (=
what is the meaning of +1, +2, +3, +4 when choosing the download ??
