What's new

Horizon Fish & Chips

It's recommended to reset your resource packs to default settings in this update.

It's also recommended to delete the kubejs and showdown inside of your instance folder before updating.

The Fish & Chips Update focuses on adding a brand new fishing experience, while also adding several new food items.

200+ fishes are now available to catch with Starcatcher and Tide 2. To get these new fishes, you will need to craft a Starcatcher's Rod. When you reel in a fish, a minigame will appear, where you have to time the sweetspots to reel in the fish. Several custom fishes have been made for the pack.

500+ new food items can now be cooked thanks to several new Farmer's Delight addons, such as Dungeon's Delight, Expanded Delight, Miner's Delight, Brewin' and Chewin' and more. Even custom made food have been made for the pack, thanks to community, with Horizon Delight. There aren't only Farmer's Delight addons, but also other food mods, like Kaleidoscope Tavern and Create: Ratatouille. Farmer's Delight has also been update to its 1.3.0 version and it's Cooking Pot has also received several buffs by being able to cook all of Farm & Charm's Cooking Pot recipes as well as some of Cobblemon's Campfire Pot recipes. Speaking of Campfire Pots, a brand new Viridium Campfire Pot has been added thanks to Better Campfire Pot to make automation easier.

It should also be mentioned that both the Eternal Steak and Infinity Ham have been nerfed to make food making actually appealing.

Another focus of this update was making less things gated behind Create, mainly energy. New blocks have been added that can handle power generation and charging. Shops are also no longer gated behind Create thanks to Spud's Shops.

Some other noteworthy additions and updates are:

  • Envelope, which adds a brand new mailing system so you can send letters and items to your far distance friends more easily.
  • EMI++ Forked, which enables groups inside of EMI to make the navigation of it a lot smoother, as it is no longer cluttered with items and blocks of the same variety. (I'd appreciate feedback on the groups!)
  • Vanilla Backport, which brings the new Chaos Cubed update to the pack. Enjoy the brand new Sulfur Caves and Sulfur Cube.

Eternal Steak (& Everlasting Beef)

Eternal Steak has been reworked into a "emergency food" sort of item that you eat when you need to fill up your hunger quickly.

It now completely fills up your hunger and saturation, but now has a cooldown of one hour. The beef only heals half.

Infinity Ham

Every value has been lowered to not make the Infinity Ham objectively the best food item in the pack.

It's still somewhat good in the early game, but is no longer able to quickly fill up your hunger from 0 to full instantly in late game.

Every ability is now unlocked right at the beginning.

The regeneration ability now only has one level and can't be upgraded. Each edible chunk now generates every 60 to 120 seconds. And each point only heals 0.165 to 1 hunger value, which is 1 to 6 at max meat.

The marinade ability now only gives 0.5 to 1 second for each hunger regenerated and can be upgraded to 1.5 seconds to 3 seconds. This means a max marinade infinity ham at full charge can give 6 minutes of a potion effect.

The meat bat ability now deals 0.1 to 0.25 damage per meat point that can be upgraded to 2.1 to 5.25. This means a max meat bat infinity ham at full charge can deal 31.5 damage. The meat bat ability now requires to levels to level up instead of just one. The stun has stayed completely unchanged.
