This modpack was initially intended to be just for me and my friends to play on a server, but after playing around with it for a bit in my own survival world, I've found that I really like this concoction I've created.
It's a mesh of mods that I think work together very well.
WARNINGS:
- WHEN CREATING A WORLD WITH THE TERRAFORGED WORLD TYPE (default and best) DON'T CHANGE THE PRESET AND IF YOU DO, MAKE SURE YOU SET THE END WORLDGEN TO BETTEREND OR THE GAME WILL CRASH WHEN CREATING THE WORLD.
- IF YOU MANUALLY INSTALL OPTIFINE, MAKE SURE IT'S THE G5 VERSION FOR 1.16.4.
As the name suggests, the main attractions are:
Technology:
- Technology in this modpack is mostly left to your imagination.
- With the Create mod, you can build custom multiblock structures that can do whatever you want and always look good.
- With the other technology mod, MrCrayfish's gun mod, you have long range artillery which adds a lot more options for fighting and defeating dragons or other players.
- Refined Storage is something I included so people can focus less on organizing their chests and more on dragons and Create.
Building:
- Even if Create machines look good, most people (including myself) still want their sometimes messy machinery to be coverable and decorated so your friends eyes don't notice the 20 water wheels you're using to power your complex crafting (still me).
- To this purpose, I included Chisel and Bits, which combined with Create is the only building mod you will ever need because you can make any custom block yourself.
- Create is also big here because of their custom trains system that can also be used to make cars, boats, planes and to make anything move however you want it to in general.
- I've also included a lot of Chocapic Shaders in all the levels and in 2 different generations in case your graphics card is incompatible with one specifically.
- There are also some resourcepacks to choose from including some that use Connected Textures and some that just slightly improve everything.
Dragons:
- One of the two main dragon mods in this modpack is Ice and Fire. It adds three different types of tameable dragons with special abilities that are also really hard to fight. It also adds lots of other bosses for you to fight and power progression through their legendary items and dragonsteel tools and weapons.
- Wyrmroost adds a large variety of dragons that server a lot more purposes than just combat and material-making.
- The Rats mod isn't specifically a dragon mod but you can still turn a rat into a small dragon.
Miscellaneous:
- There is a minimap and world map mod, Xaero's minimap and world map.
- The One Probe helps with identifying blocks and just keeping track of their names in general.
- Just Enough Items gives you all the recipes and it's addon Just Enough Resources will tell you where you can get things.
- Nature's compass helps you find a specific biome for base building or maybe resource gathering.
- Iron Chests, Iron Furnaces, and Storage Drawers add mid-game storage and mid-game fast smelting.
- Towers of the Wild tall towers that appear frequently and along with the Waystones mod you can travel inbetween them as long as set up your own waystone.
- Dungeons Plus and Dungeon Crawl are just good mods that add more value to exploration and maybe places where you can test your gear before going after a dragon.
- BetterEnd improves the end, significantly.
- Biomes O Plenty adds more color and variety to the world.
- Terraforged works really well with Biomes O Plenty and provides more realistic terrain generation along with a fix that allows Quark and BetterEnd to be compatible by making the End solely affected by BetterEnd worldgen changes.
- Sophisticated backpacks adds the best backpacks at the moment, in my opinion.
- Alex's mobs adds really good mobs that blend really well with normal vanilla minecraft and it's end mobs blend well with BetterEnd too.
- YUNG's better mineshafts and caves greatly improve minecraft's mineshafts and caves.
- Quark and extended caves make underground exploration a lot and easier.
- Upgraded Netherite adds more late-game options for gear.
- Neat is probably my favorite health tracking mod that looks really good and works with Chocapic shaders.
- Minecolonies is something I don't really use but some of my friends like it so it was included in the original modpack and I figured some people will like it too.
- Elenai Dodge 2 is the most balanced dodge mechanic in Minecraft!
- Cosmetic armor makes skins actually visible which is something I always want.
- Dynamic surroundings helps improve the feel of caves and the difference between biomes.
- FTB Backups just lets a server mod back up the world every now and then more easily just in case (I really appreciate this one myself).
- Aquaculture adds more fishing things and some good late game armor.
- Gravestones has saved my sanity several times, no more explanation needed.
