# Vamoose's Companion
**Someone to keep you company while you play.**
WoW is an MMO, but we all spend plenty of time on our own -- questing through old zones, fishing on a quiet shore, decorating the house, grinding rep, running keys with strangers. Vamoose's Companion gives you a friend who's paying attention. They notice what you're doing and have something to say about it -- sometimes wise, sometimes funny, sometimes surprisingly touching.
Install it, pick a companion, and just play. They'll take it from there.

## What's New in v1.9.0
**Two new companions join the roster.**
- **Dash, The Rakish Charmer** -- A blood elf with smooth confidence who finds the flirtatious angle in every situation, and when your bond deepens he turns out to mean every word of the sincere parts.
- **Vexia, The Winking Temptress** -- A sayaad who narrates your adventures as the scandal they deserve to be. Theatrical, conspiratorial, and entirely in on her own joke.
Both arrive with the same full coverage as the rest of the roster: over 1,200 lines each across every event the companions react to, from housing endeavors and Mythic+ runs to fishing trips, broken armour, and the four bond milestones. Pick them from the companion list in /vc, or turn on Random speaker and let all seven take turns.
Also in this release:
- Speech toasts now grow to fit long quotes instead of cutting them off mid-sentence.
- Fixed a family of "secret value" errors in protected content (Mythic+, raids, PvP, delves, and house interiors).
- Mythic+ completion quotes now know your keystone level and timer result.
- The pet selector opens instantly with large pet collections, and several settings panel toggles that could show stale values now update immediately.
## Meet the Companions
Seven personalities. Each one sees the same world differently.
- **Vamoose** -- A shaman who finds meaning in the smallest things. Warm, grounded, with dry humour that sneaks up on you.
- **Scurry** -- A squirrel who thinks everything you do is THE MOST EXCITING THING EVER. Endlessly enthusiastic.
- **Gazlowe** -- A goblin who sees profit margins in everything. Fast-talking, always scheming, genuinely impressed by gold.
- **Patches** -- A parrot who treats every outing like a voyage. Salty vocabulary, fiercely loyal, prone to nautical metaphors.
- **Murgle** -- A murloc. The translations are worth reading.
- **Dash** -- A blood elf charmer who finds the flirtatious angle in every situation. Smooth, confident, occasionally sincere when it matters.
- **Vexia** -- A sayaad who makes everything sound more scandalous than it is. Conspiratorial, dramatic, warmer than she lets on.
They live in a small portrait frame on your screen and react to what's happening around you -- walking when you walk, swimming when you swim, celebrating when you land a kill.

## What They Notice
More than you'd expect. Play normally and they'll surprise you with what they pick up on.
Every now and then they'll say something that genuinely catches you off guard.
If they're too chatty (or not chatty enough), there's a dial for that.

## The Little Things
**They remember your bond.** The more you play, the deeper your relationship grows -- from Stranger through to Soulbound. Your companion notices.
**They read the room.** Good things happening? Their mood lifts. Dying repeatedly? They feel it too. You'll see it in the portrait.
**They look the part.** Each companion has alternate appearances waiting to be found.
**They have style.** Three portrait frame options -- Classic, Ornate (filigree frame with parchment talking head), or Minimal (just the model floating on screen).

## Settings
Everything is configurable through `/vc`:
- Switch companions, adjust chattiness, toggle individual event types
- Per-companion sound and TTS controls
- Browse model variants, review quote history, change frame style
- Scale portrait and toast independently, drag to position
- Link a battle pet to each companion for auto-summoning
- Mute in dungeons, raids, or PvP
