New: Proto Angler has been released. One-click fishing: your pole on, bait, cast and reel in, then your weapons back.
New: Proto Tongues has been released. Talk to the other faction. Everyone else hears lore-speak.
Early days: more to come. Feedback, ideas and bug reports are all welcome, and a screenshot of any Lua error helps a lot.
Games to play with other players, right in WoW: Deathroll, Chess, Rock Paper Scissors and Gamba. Open it from Proto Home's Games tile, right-click a player, or type /proto games. Needs Proto Core (the CurseForge app adds it).
New in 0.0.1
- Deathroll: challenge a player, take turns to /roll down, whoever rolls 1 pays
- Chess: right-click a player > Chess. Many games at once, move whenever you like; moves reach them when you're both on
- Rock Paper Scissors: best of 1, 3 or 5, nobody sees the other's pick first, and your character acts it out
- Gamba: in a party or raid, open Proto Games > Gamba and click Host. Everyone rolls, the lowest pays the highest the difference; players without Proto join by typing 1
Deathroll
- Challenge anyone: right-click a player, set the wager and the start number, and take turns to /roll down. Whoever rolls 1 pays
- Only real rolls count: the game's own /roll lines, the right player, in turn, from the right number
- Play by hand with players who don't have Proto: you both /roll, Proto keeps score
- Trade opens the trade window with them; your record and net gold against each player are kept
Chess
- Many games at once, like a correspondence game: move whenever you like, every game is kept
- Moves wait for them: a move made while they're offline reaches them the next time you're both on
- Fair play: both sides check every move against the rules (castling, en passant, promotion, mate and the draw rules)
- Resign, offer a draw, Rematch, or Practice on your own
- The other faction: Battle.net friends can play too
Rock Paper Scissors
- Best of 1, 3 or 5: pick, then lock in. Nobody sees the other's pick first
- Your character acts it out: Rock /roar, Paper /train, Scissors /chicken, and the winner cheers (Settings > Tools > Proto Games)
- Practice against Proto
Gamba
- A gold gamble for your party or raid: everyone /rolls the stake, the lowest pays the highest the difference
- Everyone can join: click Join, or type 1 in group chat (no addon needed)
- Only real rolls count, ties roll again, and Trade opens the trade window with whoever you owe
- Your net gold against each player is kept
Type /proto games. Part of the Proto family: Proto LFG + Chat, Proto ServiceShop, Proto Threat, Proto Tools, Proto Tongues.
