The story thus far:

My comrades and I have reached a small kingdom beyond the borders of the known world. These hamlets, while guarded by soldiers and governed by kings, seem rather defenseless. The local kings who rule with law and order have many bandits and interlopers with whom they seem incapable of dealing with decisively. A great evil stalks the land, there is word about of a hungering darkness, beasts that are banished in the light, undead who attack unwary travelers and lay siege to human settlements every third night. Among the many ruins and ancient dungeons that scatter the land are the opportunities for great wealth, and power. We need to be careful, our provisions are depleted and the local lords do not take kindly to those who farm and hunt on their lands. We should build beyond their boarders, though i think some of my fellow travelers may intend ill toward the unsuspecting villagers. Some among us claim they search for the Path of the Ancients, a way of technology that has been lost to our world. Others are interested in communing with the land itself, drawing power from nature. And yet others have the gleam of bloodlust in their eyes. Not all are as they appear, for once we arrived, i thought i saw elf ears hiding under one traveler's cowl, and robes hid the animal hooves of a beastman. Something great is afoot here, if the demihumans have journeyed as well to seek the return of their kind to greatness...

Hello there, and welcome to Path of the Ancients! This is a modpack aimed at reinventing how Minecraft gets played, incorporating some MMORPG sensibilities; making all the changes and addons that make the world feel a bit more immersive, gives it more roleplay potential, rewards exploration, and makes dark areas more dangerous. I've tried to make sure to only include mods that play nice together. For fun, change the language setting to Shakespearean English!
