Blood Magic is an arcane art that is practiced by mages who attempt to gather a vast amount of power through utilizing a forbidden material: blood. Even though it does grant a huge amount of power, every single action that is performed with this volatile magic can prove deadly. You have been warned.

Getting Started
Getting started in Blood Magic has changed slightly since 1.7.10. Rather than finding a Diamond to craft a Blood Altar, you need to obtain some Demonic Will. To get your first bit of Will, you'll need to craft some Soul Trumpets Snares and toss them at enemies. If you're lucky, this will snare the enemy. When killed, snared enemies will drop a small amount of their Will. I'll let you take it from there.

Documentation is provided via an in-game book managed by Guide API under the name "Sanguine Scientiem".

emmmm, could you please add some adventure elements to bloodmagic2, bloodmagic1 and 3 both had some adventure elements, would you be willing to reintroduce some to bloodmagic2?

Are Sentient Armor and the other flavours of demon blocks (bricks, pillars etc.) ever being re-added? I miss those things-
There seems to be an incompatibility with shaders. Blocks like the Hellfire Forge are just some Missing Texture Blocks. Some Recipies from Just Enough Items are also wrong. For example the Storage Gems for Demonic Will are made with the Hellfire Forge but JEI tells you it's made with the Alchemy Table. Both Issues in 1.16.5
i cant make snares because its saying to put string in the blood alter. well i can't fuel the blood alter without snares.. im so confused

The Blood Altar just needs blood from the sacrificial knives. Making snares just means tossing them in an altar to imbue them with the right properties. Once you have demonic will from the snares, you can use your soul forge to start creating sentient tools, weapons, and most importantly tartaric gems.
1.12.2 The Blood Alter keeps telling me to place a "Solid Block" but there is already one there. I've tried a couple of different blocks including the ruin blocks bot it isn't working.
Is this mod safe to put in a server mid game?

I had been playing on a modded world for months and recently started using blood magic. I performed the ritual of living evolution and it crashed my world. I was unable to go back to it until I downloaded the newest version of the mod. Thank you for fixing the problem, it saved my world. Whatever you did seems to have fixed the issue with the living armor.
I'm stuck I cant get a tier 3 orb because it requires a max blood capacity of 25000 but I cant make a rune of augmented capacity because you need a tier 3 orb to craft it so please help. im on 1.7.10

I am playing on a more recent version of the mod, but can't you make a tier III blood altar with more blank runes, then make imbued slates and runes of capacity. Runes of capacity are easier to do than runes of augmented capacity. That is how I did. Making the 8 runes directly beside the altar runes of capacity and the rest blank runes, I was able to have a tier III blood altar with a capacity of 26,000.

To add onto what the gentle crab said, I also suggest that if you dont want to upgrade all your runes you can upgrade some of them, fill the altar up, and then do bloodletting while making the new orb.
Hi, i've been playing with the latest version of this mod for 1.16.5, which supposedly fixes the Living Armor crash, but i'm still having issues. Equipping the chest piece for living armor doesn't crash my client, but it does kick me from the server i'm playing on, and throws an Internal Server error. Because there isn't a crash, i have no crash log to post, but i'm out of options at this point as i can't log back into the server.

I had a problem with it as well, but the version posted on December 16 seems to have fixed the issue. I am able to log back in again.
This mod has potential, however, it does not feel very easy to follow. There will be a learning curve for anyone new. Take your time and work use the Sanguine Scientiem book to help. I do feel that making this book separate does hinder this mod for new comers. There are plenty of benefits from putting the work in although there needs to be more rewards throughout the whole process. Each step should have something useful that you can earn and use right away.
What to do I take from this mod? Overall it is interesting and has a few rewards for your efforts. Do I recommend? Yes, but only if you think the rewards will benefit you. My biggest suggestion is to make it feel more rewarding and allow more for tactics to prevent negative effects by being prepared.
1.16.5 Not sure what I am missing, trying to get to tier IV. Does the bound blade not exist in this version? How do I get the blood shards

I suggest you download Patchouli and read through the guide. Online guides and wikis are severely outdated.
