This modpack is not finished and is in early access right now. If you are looking for complete modpacks, this is not the place right now.

Welcome to Magna, a large magitech-based modpack literal to the name where the player's mind is the only limit. There are multiple ways to do everything, with custom recipes, tools, armor, weapons, items, blocks, and even built-in integration between mods you've never thought could be together.

The modpack follows three base rules:

  • Benefit per complication - every complication has a benefit, whether you're going to automate the creation of something and get better output, or do it all manually and suffer the consequence of simplicity.
  • Erase detours - never let anything only have one path. There are almost always multiple ways to do everything and get to the point you want.
  • No strict start or finish - there is little to no limitation on where you start or end, be it starting by playing with magic, ending off completing all quests, or ending off becoming the best at combat.

This modpack aims to be as modular and flexible as possible, according to whatever the player's needs and wants are.

There is little to no staging, but there are benefits for completing tasks - like that you can obtain one material early on, but after you get to a certain point, you can get it easier. For example, Quartz is obtainable in the Overworld, but it's rare; however, once you can get to the Nether, the probability of finding quartz is quintupled.

Singleplayer vs Multiplayer: which is better here?

Whichever you prefer. If you want to play singleplayer over multiplayer, that's fine.

Singleplayer has a lot to offer on it's own. Be productive by making a factory powered by Starbuncles and magic flowers. Go explore the landscapes and fight various mobs in various biomes.

Got no friends online on your server? Go make friends with a Piglin and have it help fight for you in the Nether, or maybe grind some coins.

If you want to play with friends, that's great too. There is nothing stopping you from doing either, as both are viable and playable.

How does the compatibility between mods look like and work?

A lot of the mods here are not normally compatible with each other in the way that they don't interact with each other in any way.

By utilizing mods like KubeJS, I've created ways they can interact with each other, either by using recipes, custom items and blocks, or even wacky functional differences.

Big thanks:

"F"AQ:

Q: I have a bug report/issue, where do I put it?

A: In the issues section on this page, or in the Discord.

Q: Where can I ask questions, get support, or request additions or changes to the modpack?

A: The Discord is a great place to ask.

Q: Will you add [OP mod]?

A: No, but if you can convince me... still probably no. The reason behind it is that the idea of giving the player that much power will ruin their creativity/strategy and ruin the entire point of this pack. I want the player to figure out how to use their brain and use what they have, and not give them everything all at once. Don't @ me about Redstone Arsenal.
