The What and Why
The What: Cup's Ultimate Pack focuses on three core principles: Player Expression, Exploration, and Creation.
Player Expression
Everything the player does is rewarded. Players earn experience through ProjectMMO for Breaking blocks, Building, Combat, Exploration, Quests, and more. Leveling up your skills rewards you with better performance, abilities, and unique items through the skill based Quest trees. Players can find dozens of trinkets to boost their abilities such as those from Enigmatic Legacy and Artifacts. Cosmetic Armor allows the player to dress for style and function all at once. Tinkers Construct gives you the freedom to define exactly what your tools should be. Joining our official server opens even more opportunity to role play with our unique races from Dwarfs to Faeries to Werewolves and many more, complete quests for NPCs and discover unique structures and locations scattered throughout the world with all of us in our Discord server.
Exploration
With over 100 biomes, 8 dimensions, and exploration quests to help push you along with rewards, there is always something new to make you say "I wish I built my base here instead of that swamp". Oh The Biomes You'll Go and Biomes O' Plenty pair together with the new 1.18 world gen to create an enchantingly unique Overworld everywhere you go. With unique structures, dungeons, and hundreds of places to find loot, exploration is now worth your time. But don't dive blindly into that deep dark cavern, ProjectMMO gradually scales naturally spawning enemies to your level. New vanilla-like hostile mobs flesh out the enemy sandbox to create a dangerous world conquered through careful planning, the right equipment, and teamwork.

The Why: Cup's Ultimate Pack was created out of the necessity for a unified and easily updated "core" of mods for ourselves and our friends to come back to year after year. As of this year we have been creating and playing modpacks for over 10 years. For most of this time we have played for a season, discarded the world and moved on to another pack the following year. This was not always the case. In 2012 we started a Tekkit server and played for months. When we were done, instead of discarding the world we simply moved to another continent and continued playing. This isn't something special of course, but looking back over the last several years I noticed that throwing away progress had become a mainstay of our annual Minecraft experience. This pack aims to create a solid foundation for years of Minecraft playthroughs all unified through our own modpack, allowing for the addition and tweaking of exactly what we want. Publishing the pack on CurseForge is an important step, as it allows others to join us and help shape our Ultimate Pack. Cup's Ultimate Pack is not "Ultimate" because it includes every mod (All the Mods already does that the best it can and is absolutely worth a try!), it's "Ultimate" because it's the end of an era for our small group of friends and hopefully the beginning of something great.
We Need to Talk About Food
There's something I need to get off my chest. You know how you eat food in order to regenerate health and sprint? What about all those huge and fantastic mods that add so many cool foods to cook, but no rewards for cooking them? Have you ever considered what you could do with food if that wasn't it's core purpose? Hunger is not a mechanic in Cup's Ultimate Pack. Eating food heals your directly, and eating enough unique foods will grant you a permanent health boost. Many foods give you status effect bonuses such as night vision, speed, strength, and more. You can always sprint regardless of if you ate recently. If you haven't taken damage, you don't need to eat. These changes might make food seem less important than it once was, but in testing we found that people ate more unique foods than before, and the rewards for doing so greatly improved the experience. This change is one of a "reward, don't punish" mentality, something I take very seriously. On the Official Server, creating unique foods is part of multiple NPC quest lines.
