A weapon appearance tracker - the counterpart to Xal's Armoire, weapons only.
π€ What is Xal's Warchest?
There are thousands of weapon looks in the game, and it's easy to walk right past one you could have picked up in the zone you're standing in. Your collection tells you what you own. It doesn't tell you what's left, or where any of it comes from.
Xal's Warchest is the weapon side of that, the same idea as Xal's Armoire but for weapons instead of armor. It lists every weapon appearance you still don't own, and click any one of them to see exactly where it comes from: the boss, the vendor, the quest, the profession or the achievement. Open it, check the Zone tab, and go get something.
β‘ Key features
- The tracker β a to-do list of every weapon appearance you don't own yet, with search. It shrinks as you collect.
- A Zone tab that comes first β only the weapons you can get in the zone you're standing in right now, beside All, Raids and Dungeons tabs.
- All weapons, or one type at a time β the filter starts on "All weapons" so nothing hides from you, and narrows to a single weapon type when you want to focus.
- Where it actually comes from β click any weapon for who drops it, which vendor sells it and in what zone, which quest rewards it and who starts it, which profession and recipe crafts it, which achievement awards it, or which raid or dungeon boss drops it. There's a Wowhead link too.
- Researched, not guessed β 9,779 verified sources across every expansion: boss drops, vendors, quests, professions and achievements.
- Every item that grants the look β one weapon appearance can come from several different items, and all of them are listed.
- Raids and Dungeons grouped by instance, with collapsible sections, so a long list stays readable.
- Your collection in its own window β everything you already own, across all weapons or one type, kept apart from the to-do list so the tracker only ever shows work that's left.
- A floating zone alert β a small chest icon appears while you're standing somewhere with weapons left to get, with a count of how many. Move it, resize it, hide it, or reset its position from settings.
- Minimap button β left-click opens the tracker, right-click opens settings.
- Works with Xal's Keep β if you have the Keep installed, Warchest opens inside it as one of its tabs. Without it, nothing changes.

π§ In the works
Ideas on the roadmap β not in the addon yet:
- More settings β more ways to tune how the tracker and the zone alert look and behave.
- Open-world drops β weapons that drop from regular mobs out in the world, which the research doesn't cover yet.
