🤔 What is Xal's Reins?
The mount journal tells you what you own. It's far less helpful when what you actually want to know is what you're missing, and what you'd have to do to get it.
Xal's Reins puts the whole mount roster in one window — collected and uncollected side by side — and shows you where each one comes from. Drop, vendor, quest, achievement, cost, faction lock. Search for a mount by name, or flip the list to Missing and see everything still out there.
It's deliberately simple. There's no forest of checkboxes to wade through before it's useful — open it, search or filter, and go.

- Faction locks flagged — Horde-only and Alliance-only mounts marked clearly.
- Unusable-on-this-character mounts dimmed rather than hidden, so you still know they exist.
- Minimap button — left-click to open the list, right-click for settings.

🚧 In the works
Ideas on the roadmap — not in the addon yet:
- Tooltip integration — hover an NPC or vendor out in the world and see the collection status of what they drop or sell right there.
- Wowhead links — copy a direct link for any mount straight out of the list.
- Unobtainable and removed mounts — old promotions, retired rewards and Black Market-only mounts, hidden by default and toggleable for reference.
- Quest chain view — for quest-granted mounts, the full prerequisite chain from start to finish, not just the final step.
- Minilist — a small always-on window that shows whatever's relevant to the content you're currently in.
- New mount fanfare — a notification when you learn one.
