🤔 What is Xal's Reins?
The Mount Journal tells you what you own. It's far less helpful when what you actually want to know is what you're missing on the character you're standing on right now, and what it actually takes to go get it.
Xal's Reins opens straight to that answer: a to-do list of mounts you don't own that your current character can genuinely go and get, not the full roster of a thousand mounts, and not the ones locked to the other faction. Click any of them for the real in-game source, and for mounts that need more than just showing up, a full step-by-step chain — the quests, reputations, and currencies required first, each one ticking itself off as you complete it. Quest steps tell you exactly where to start, in game, so you're never sent off to a browser mid-session.

- The tracker — a to-do list of mounts you don't own that your character can actually get. It shrinks as you collect.
- Click any mount for how to get it: who drops it, which vendor, which zone, and what it costs.
- Step-by-step chains for 625 mounts — every expansion covered, Classic through Midnight. The quests, reputations, and currencies you need first, each ticking itself off against your character live, with quest steps showing exactly where to start.
- Search your whole collection, tagged so nothing vanishes just because you're in the wrong zone or already own it.
- Raids and Dungeons tabs, plus a zone filter that follows you around.
- Your full collection in its own window, separate from the to-do list.
- Trading Post aware — flags mounts that are only purchasable this month.
- Minimap button — left-click opens the tracker, right-click opens settings.

🚧 In the works
Ideas on the roadmap — not in the addon yet:
- Tooltip integration — hover an NPC or vendor out in the world and see the collection status of what they drop or sell right there.
- Unobtainable and removed mounts, toggleable for reference — old promotions and retired rewards, shown only if you want to see them.
- Minilist — a small always-on window that shows whatever's relevant to the content you're currently in.
