Hardcore Bags
World of Warcraft Classic Era / Hardcore · Interface 11509
A full carried-inventory replacement for World of Warcraft Classic Era / Hardcore, built around a unified no-scroll inventory, automatic categories, live search, new-item tracking, stack grouping, and a customizable graphite/gold interface.
One Inventory. Organized Automatically.
Hardcore Bags replaces the normal carried-bag windows with one unified inventory surface while preserving the real Blizzard bag and slot behind every interactive item.
Your currently carried inventory is organized into sections for:
New Items — optional dedicated section, enabled by default;
Equipment;
Consumables;
Quest Items;
Trade Goods;
Reagents;
Ammo;
Soul Shards;
Keys;
Junk;
Miscellaneous;
Free Space.
Classic Keyring inventory is included when the client exposes it.
No Main Inventory Scrollbar
Hardcore Bags is designed to show the character's complete currently carried inventory at once.
Categories are arranged as independent panels. Category Columns and Category Rows can each be configured from 1–12, letting the player format categories horizontally or vertically instead of being locked to a narrow four-column layout.
Items inside each category wrap automatically. If the selected category matrix is too small, the layout grows rather than hiding inventory. The complete bag window recalculates its size from the current category and item population.
Overall Bag UI Scale is configurable from 50%–150%, with screen-fit behavior used only as a safety fallback.
Search
Search from the bag header or with:
/hbags search <text>
Search matches item names and available category/type information. Nonmatching items are dimmed rather than moved out of their physical Blizzard inventory slots.
Similar Items & Optional Combined Stacks
Group Similar Items is enabled by default so like items remain together inside their semantic category.
An optional Combine Identical Stacks mode can visually collapse several identical stackable physical stacks into one tile. The tile shows:
exact total quantity;
how many physical stacks are represented;
one real Blizzard bag/slot as the interactive representative.
This is presentation only. Hardcore Bags never fabricates an actual merged Blizzard stack, and using or dragging the tile affects one real physical stack at a time before the inventory refreshes.
New Item Awareness
Hardcore Bags integrates Blizzard's new-item state where available.
New-item presentation has independent controls for:
New Items Section — On by default;
Show NEW Label — On by default;
New Item Color — fully configurable.
Turning off the dedicated New Items section does not turn off the NEW label or highlight. New items simply return to their normal category.

Live During Combat
Inventory updates, category membership, category rows/columns, search presentation, colors, and automatic window sizing remain live during combat.
Hardcore Bags preserves real physical Blizzard bag/slot identity and leaves protected item-use behavior under Blizzard's native container interaction system.
Commands
/hbags /hbags show /hbags hide /hbags config /hbags status /hbags search <text> /hbags replace /hbags native /hbags reset /hbags errors
/hbags native disables replacement mode and restores Blizzard's native bag-window presentation as a recovery path.
Performance
Hardcore Bags is event-driven. Inventory mutations are coalesced through BAG_UPDATE_DELAYED, with no permanent inventory polling loop and no per-item OnUpdate loop.
Runtime work remains tied to actual inventory changes and visible presentation.
Built for Classic Hardcore
Hardcore Bags is designed specifically for World of Warcraft Classic Era / Hardcore and targets the Classic client inventory APIs and restrictions.
Bank replacement is intentionally not part of version 1.0.0.
