Not only the ones you thought you knew well, but also the Twilight Forest, the Deep Dark, the Midnight, the ancient realm of archeology, the corrupted islands of the Chaos Guardian, and even the realms of magic and sorcery. To survive, you are going to need to do things you never thought you would have to. This world is unforgiving of mistakes, and if you even make one...

...the world itself will punish you for it. You must be extremely careful, or you might find yourself at the bottom of a grave. Gooood luuuuuck, and don't die! Oh, and...

Well hello there! Ultimate Hardcore: Oblivion is a survival/magic themed pack, focused on making life as difficult for you as possible. Don't worry, it is still doable! While hard, it is still meant for you to be able to succeed and have fun. This pack also takes it a step further with the end game and blends magic and technology together with LightningCraft and Draconic Evolution. With an in-depth questing system and carefully configured mods, this pack is designed to give you well thought out gameplay and plenty to do, with a single end goal in mind: become the Ultimate Survivor, and conquer all of the realms and dimensions. You think you are up to the task? Give it a go!

================== Be Warned, In this pack, you will only face the greatest challenges. =====================

From physical manifestations of corrupt magic, to the extremely deadly new Chaos Guardian, dangers lurk around every corner, lying in wait to emerge and destroy you. You are never safe, no matter where you are. Always remain cautious, and keep your head on a swivel, especially in those battle towers and Roguelike Dungeons!

What's that you say, "We will always have vanilla mobs"? If only that were true. These old creatures are more dangerous than they ever were before, with new abilities, strengths and weaknesses as well as new tactics. Remember my words: never underestimate anything.

=============== If you want to live, you must be prepared to do whatever it takes to survive. =================

In this pack, you don't have just hunger to worry about. You also have thirst, temperature, and sanity (courtesy of Thaumcraft). You also have new stealth and detection mechanics with Dynamic Stealth, allowing you to sneak up and surprise your enemies. Get that 2x sneak damage and armour penetration! But remember, they can also sneak up on you... particularly in the dark or from behind... be careful, and never enter a cave or dark area unless you feel you can defend yourself. You also have stamina, so you can't run or jump forever. Speaking of stamina, pull out those sweet moves of yours with Smart Moving, giving you the ability to scale walls, leap from edges, crawl, super jump, and even cross chasms by hanging from iron bars! Also, you can pull even sweeter combat moves using Dynamic Sword Skills and Dual Wielding, with new skills to learn and new powerful moves to try. Oh... I should also mention...

... you only have one heart to start with. Of course, you can increase it by wearing armour. The stronger the armour, the more health it gives you, since armour no longer protects you from damage. Don't worry! The health it gives you is calculated from the amount of armour it normally adds, so it works with a ton of different armours. Even though you don't have armour protection, you can still use spells and incantations to protect you, as well as Superior Shields, which allows you to place a little shielding amulet in the amulet bauble slot, giving you a magic shield, with strength depending on the tier. Also, you can increase your health by gaining experience as well. Every few levels, you can gain an additional heart, all the way back up to your normal health bar at level 100. Be warned, if you lose these levels, you lose the hearts gained from those levels, so be careful, and watch your levels when enchanting. You can also increase it via heart containers, created by heart crystal shards that can be obtained from heart crystal shard ore deep down, or from mobs occasionally. Just be careful, it gets even more dangerous the deeper you go.

============================== It's a big world, and it only gets bigger. ================================

In this pack, you don't have such conveniences such as Journey Map. Instead, you have to use an old fashion method: the Antique Atlas. Using this, you can keep a journal record of where you have been, and different important places you have bookmarked. This will help you when you go out exploring Roguelike Dungeons, Castle Dungeons, and Battle Towers. There is plenty to see, plenty to explore, and plenty to die from. Remember: just because it looks safe, doesn't mean it is.

Here, you won't just be exploring the physical realm. You will also be exploring the realm of magic! Use the elements of Electroblob's Wizardry, Thaumcraft and much more to discover the hidden world around you. Just never forget, "All magic comes with a price."
