This will probably work fine with existing worlds, but I'd suggest you make a new world anyway. If you do choose to continue on an existing world, be sure to make a backup first, better safe than sorry.

Additions, Craft Tweaker, In Control!, Loot Tweaker, Mod Tweaker, Modular Machinery, Mob Spawner Control, No Worldgen 5 You, and the dependencies of the aforementioned mods.

Spoilers ahead, if you'd rather experience things firsthand don't read them:

Added an end goal in the form of an item called The Glorious Dawn, which is very hard to get but can completely eradicate the parasites from your world.

Added an item that can undo the effects of The Glorious Dawn called Dusk Sludge, which can reenable the parasite's evolution or introduce them to dimensions the parasites would normally not be able to infect.

Added an item called The Grim Midnight that instantly sets the parasite's evolution phase to 8 when used, useful if you want a challenge or just to give a giant middle finger to other players on the world.

Overhauled cities, they are now rarer, larger, have excellent loot (which can rarely include a laser crystal, which has been given a new use), and are filled with spawners that can spawn any assimilated mob with the exception of an assimilated ender dragon, or rarely primitive parasites.

Spawners now give loot and XP when manually broken, and automatically break after a certain threshold of mobs have been spawned.

Added a new, powerful, thematically appropriate method of power generation via modular machinery.
