Oathwrought 0.6 - Forged Frontiers
What's new
UPDATE 0.6

Oathwrought 0.6 combines new places and objectives with a substantial smithing overhaul, a rebuilt navigation setup, carrier-pigeon mail, a fishing minigame, and a proper first-day guide for players learning the pack.
CREATED AND CURATED BY HOLLIS
- Forged Frontiers was conceived, directed, assembled, balanced, and release-tested by Hollis. This includes the update's mod selection, navigation direction, forging scope, material rules, recipe behavior, onboarding structure, presentation, and final keyboard-focused control pass.
- The 0.6 compatibility art pass contains 77 custom item textures created for this update under Hollis's direction: 64 equipment components, six flattened armor plates, and seven heated ingots.
- Hollis personally hand-edited and supplied all 64 finished heads, blades, frames, and working-component textures: 55 realm-equipment pieces plus nine Neptunium pieces.
- Those edits cover Amaramber, Deepsilver, Glacite, Malarite, Starlit Diamond, Thermal Springstone, and Unrealium equipment; the Candlash, Crystal Greatsword, Golem Steel Greatsword, Rage of Stars, and Underminer components; and the complete Neptunium axe, hoe, pickaxe, shovel, sword, fillet-knife, kitchen-knife, bow-frame, and fishing-rod-frame set.
- Hollis designed the plate expansion around the established Copper and Iron silhouette and requested material-matched palettes for Aethersent, Amaramber, Deepsilver, Neptunium, Thermal Springstone, and Unrealium. Glacite and Starlit Diamond were deliberately excluded because they are crystalline rather than metallic.
- Hollis also directed the seven heated-ingot palettes and the consistent heat, forge, quench, polish, and assembly rules used throughout the expanded equipment progression.
- The rewritten Field Guide's first-day order, Carry On explanation, JEI introduction, Flint and Rock instructions, knapping path, and first Copper-smithing walkthrough were organized from Hollis's requested onboarding plan.
NEW FRONTIERS
- Added The Bumblezone, a compact hive realm filled with new inhabitants, dangers, discoveries, and rewards.
- Added Village Bounties, giving villages optional kill and delivery objectives with individual player progress and modest rewards.
NAVIGATION AND FIELDWORK
- Removed Xaero’s Minimap and rebuilt navigation around Antique Atlas 4 and Surveyor.
- Every player begins with an Antique Atlas. Carry it anywhere in the inventory and press M to open the map. It records only terrain that has actually been explored and becomes unavailable when the Atlas is no longer carried.
- Retained the physical Compass system: carrying a normal Compass reveals direction and coordinates.
- Added Chalk and Chalk: Chars for marking trails, hazards, ruins, directions, and meeting points directly in the world.
- Unbound Simple Voice Chat’s microphone mute action from M, leaving the key free for the Atlas.
COMMUNICATION AND PIGEON POST
- Added local-range text through Proximity Chat.
- Proximity voice and craftable Simple Radios remain available for nearby groups and longer-distance expedition contact.
- Added Envelope 0.7.5, providing a physical carrier-pigeon mail system for separated players and distant settlements before radios are available.
- Friendly pigeons can be found around villages and mountain areas, attracted with seeds, and housed in craftable Pigeonholes.
- Overworld Mailboxes receive unique addresses and connect to the mail network for three experience levels. Address Tags select the destination for a Letter or Package.
- Placing addressed mail and seeds into a Mailbox allows a nearby pigeon to collect it. Deliveries continue across long distances and into unloaded areas.
- Letters, seals, Packages, payment-on-delivery requests, mail services, Dovecote structures, Collapsed Mail Hubs, and Nether-dwelling Charred Pigeons expand the postal system beyond simple messages.
- Envelope adds no global gameplay keybind, so Hollis's finalized keyboard layout remains unchanged.
FOCUSED FISHING
- Added Fishing Overhaul, a compact skill check that activates when reeling in ordinary or Aquaculture catches.
- Catch timing can reward a normal or critical result while working with Aquaculture’s rods, tackle, fish, and Neptunium progression.
FORGING OVERHAUL
- Reworked Eternal Starlight, Eternal Starlight's Delight, and Neptunium equipment around separate heads, blades, frames, and working components.
- Added Hollis's 64 hand-edited component textures: 55 realm-equipment pieces and nine finished Neptunium heads, blades, and frames.
- Expanded the compatibility layer across 264 recipe files: 92 new recipe or mapping files and 172 revised recipes, including 15 new Overgeared item-to-tool-type mappings.
- Implemented Hollis's handle-separated equipment design: heat metal when required, shape the working component, quench hot parts, polish unfinished parts, and attach the handle or other final components.
- Corrected overlapping realm knife and shovel recipes. Realm knives now use their material plus an iron nugget.
- Gave the Malarite spear its own one-gem, two-nugget pattern.
- Preserved shaped-anvil behavior: repeated materials shown in separate JEI squares must occupy separate anvil slots rather than one stacked slot.
FLATTENED ARMOR PLATES
- Added six material-matched plate textures and cold-forged plates for Aethersent, Amaramber, Deepsilver, Neptunium, Thermal Springstone, and Unrealium, following Hollis's requested Copper-and-Iron visual language.
- Each plate begins as one ordinary, unheated metal ingot and is hammered flat on a Smithing Anvil, matching the established Copper and Iron process.
- Converted 22 armor recipes to use plates while preserving their original armor patterns and material counts.
- Aethersent armor keeps its Creteor Hide components while its metal positions now use Aethersent Plates.
- Glacite and Starlit Diamond remain on shard and gem routes because they are crystalline rather than metallic materials.
NEPTUNIUM SMITHING
- Added Heated Neptunium with Furnace, Blast Furnace, Smithing Alloying, Nether Smithing Alloying, and Starlight Forge heating routes.
- Completed the seven-texture heated-ingot set for Aethersent, Amaramber, Deepsilver, Golem Steel, Neptunium, Thermal Springstone, and Unrealium.
- Added Neptunium cooling back into an ordinary ingot when heated stock is not used.
- Changed Neptunium armor to cold-forged plates while keeping heated metal for tools and weapons.
- Split the Neptunium axe, hoe, pickaxe, shovel, sword, fillet knife, kitchen knife, bow, and fishing rod into nine forged components before final assembly.
- Fixed Heated Neptunium not cooling when dropped into water. All seven added heated metals were audited against their detection tags and cooling outputs.
A BETTER STARTING GUIDE
- Rebuilt the Oathwrought Field Guide into a first-day progression instead of a loose feature list.
- New players are now walked through JEI, finding Flint, producing Rocks from Stone, knapping stone heads, assembling stone tools, mining Copper, making a Copper Smithing Hammer, creating a Stone Smithing Anvil, heating Copper, and forging a first Copper tool.
- Added explanations for hot metal, quenching, polishing, cold armor plates, blueprints, anvil tiers, the Atlas, Compass, Chalk, carrier-pigeon mail, communication, expeditions, and realm gear.
- Added a Carry On guide: with both hands empty, crouch-right-click a supported block entity or small creature to lift it, then right-click to place it while retaining its contents and data.
- JEI is introduced directly: hover an item and press R for its recipe or U for its uses. Familiar recipes should not be assumed to follow vanilla patterns.
COOKING, PRESENTATION, AND FEEDBACK
- Added Create: Slice & Dice, connecting Create machinery with Farmer’s Delight preparation and food automation.
- Added Fancy World Animations for animated supported-block interactions.
- Added Fresh Animations alongside the pack’s existing Fresh Moves setup.
- Added Loot Journal and its Fragmentum support library for clearer pickup feedback.
- Moved Meal Mastery's cooking-screen panel to the left so it no longer sits behind JEI's ingredient list.
- Corrected the compatibility hook that prevented the Meal Mastery positioning change from loading.
TECHNICAL CHANGES
- Added 19 projects and removed Xaero's Minimap, for a net increase of 18 projects over 0.5. The final 0.6 manifest contains 85 tracked projects.
- Added the required support stack for the new features, including Surveyor, Fragmentum, Sinytra Connector, Forgified Fabric API, Kotlin for Forge, YetAnotherConfigLib, and McQoy.
- Updated JEI and Sodium.
- Updated the Oathwrought Compatibility Patch to 1.10.7.
- Added Envelope's NeoForge 1.21.1 release directly through the CurseForge manifest. Its required support code is bundled within the mod, and no additional dependency project or default keybind was needed.
- Restored the one-time 0.6 patch-notes book for both new players and returning testers by giving the final release its own first-join trigger. Its opening page now makes clear that reading is optional and the book can be discarded afterward.
- Corrected the patch book's internal title to fit Minecraft's written-book title limit. A new release trigger ensures players affected by the invalid title receive the corrected book on their next world entry.
- Packaged Hollis's tested keyboard defaults, including Q for Drop, Tab for Inventory, M for the Atlas, J for Meal Mastery, Mouse 4 for push-to-talk, and no default Simple Voice Chat mute key.
- Target platform remains Minecraft 1.21.1 on NeoForge 21.1.248.
- A fresh world is recommended so new terrain, structures, realm content, and village objectives can generate cleanly.
