What's new

Villages (now built like BTW)

  • A village is abandoned or not as a whole, by how far its centre is from spawn (fully abandoned within 2000 blocks, partly abandoned within 3000)
  • Living villages have one Hamper in a smithy with BTW's blacksmith loot: raw iron, raw gold, bread, apples, a worn iron shovel or sword, oak saplings and a saddle
  • Houses in living villages have wicker baskets with food and odds and ends instead of chests
  • Living villages keep their hay, pumpkins, melons, flower pots and cats, and about one farm animal per pen; armour stands wear worn leather
  • Lanterns and campfires are burned-out crude torches, and house furnaces are brick blocks
  • Village forges hold water and a loose brick slab instead of lava and a furnace
  • No job-site blocks, ovens, beds, wool, carpets, banners, bells or iron golems in any village
  • Villages have as many farms as BTW's (about five each); about 1 in 5 plots is planted with nearly ripe wheat, carrots or potatoes, the rest is loose dirt
  • Partly abandoned villages: no glass in the windows, wheat only, and only farmer, blacksmith and butcher zombie villagers
  • Fully abandoned villages: no chests, baskets, animals, hay, pumpkins, melons, flower pots, lanterns or torches; dead farms with no water; only a rare house has a lone zombie farmer
  • Villagers no longer summon iron golems (no more iron farms, like BTW); the battery golem stand still works

Temples

  • Desert temples are built like BTW: obsidian where the coloured terracotta was, an enchanting table in the middle and a wooden pressure plate on the trap
  • Desert temples keep their archaeology cellar; suspicious sand now also gives bones, flint, gold nuggets and, rarely, an Ancient Manuscript, on top of the usual finds
  • Desert and jungle temples hold Hampers with BTW's loot: worn gold gear, emeralds, bones, books and a rare Ancient Manuscript
  • Temples within 2000 blocks of spawn have already been looted: dug open, traps gone, only scraps left in the hampers, no enchanting table in the desert temple, the jungle temple's hidden room broken open and its Vessel of the Dragon gone
  • A looted desert temple's cellar is dug out, with one suspicious sand left, a burned-out campfire and a stone chisel stuck in the floor
  • Wild pumpkins within 2500 blocks of spawn are already carved

Loose & Mortared Blocks

  • Loose blocks only craft loose blocks: loose stones make loose slabs, stairs and walls, and new loose polished stones, deepslate tiles, mossy stone bricks, end stone bricks and a nether brick fence - all of which fall like other loose blocks and mortar into the real ones
  • New loose walls for every stone wall, and loose slabs and stairs for the polished stones, deepslate tiles and mossy stone bricks
  • 4 loose polished deepslate, blackstone or tuff make 4 loose bricks of the same; loose granite, diorite and andesite mix into each other like the mortared ones
  • Every new loose shape crafts back into what it was made from
  • Every mortared block that has a loose version breaks into it unless you use Silk Touch: walls, the nether brick fence, slabs and stairs, polished stones, deepslate tiles, and mossy, tuff, end stone and polished blackstone bricks
  • Cracked and chiseled bricks (stone, deepslate, nether, blackstone, tuff) break into the nearest loose block unless you use Silk Touch; mossy cobblestone still drops itself (it's the Block Dispenser's ingredient)
  • Mortared blocks keep their own recipes: slabs, stairs and walls, and sidings and pedestals in the Soul Forge like BTW
  • Loose blocks, slabs and stairs all take the same time to break
  • Brick blocks, slabs and stairs (mortared and loose) only drop bricks to an iron or diamond chisel; anything else breaks them for nothing

Recipes

  • Cauldron: 1 potash bleaches 8 wool, 16 wool slabs, 12 carpets, 16 knitted wool or 32 wool white; 1 dye colours 8 white wool, 16 wool slabs, 12 carpets or 32 wool (the one-for-one cauldron dyeing and washing are gone)
  • Kiln: bakes stone, sandstone, red sandstone, quartz blocks and basalt into their smooth versions; cracks stone, deepslate, nether and blackstone bricks and deepslate tiles; bakes loose end stone into ender slag and white cobblestone
  • Oven: pops chorus fruit (for end rods and purpur) and dries wet sponges
  • Stoked crucible: melts cobbled deepslate (loose or mortared) into deepslate, loose cobblestone into stone, and white cobblestone into white stone; Soulforged Nethersteel can also be made from an iron ingot, coal dust, a soul urn and soul flux
  • Sawing a log or wood block also gives 1 bark
  • Stone stairs from 3 mouldings and the nether brick fence from 3 nether brick mouldings are made in the crafting grid, like BTW (they needed the Soul Forge)
  • 3 loose brick slabs make 2 loose brick stairs (clay and nether); 2 wicker make a wicker slab
  • Milling a companion slab gives a wolf chop
  • The copper hoe can be crafted again (1 copper ingot, 3 sticks); mashed melon can also be made from 4 melon slices and an axe
  • The Crafter is made with an anvil instead of a crafting table
  • The dropper is made like the dispenser, without the bow; no observer recipe (Better With Time's Detector Block does its job); no furnace minecart recipe
  • Padding is fabric, wool and fabric
  • Copying the Silence trim takes an echo shard instead of a sculk shrieker
  • Piston-pack 4 solid snow into a packed ice block

Loot

  • The Rib and Spire armour trims can be found again in Nether fortress and End city chests
  • Bastion chests give iron tools and armour instead of diamond ones
  • A hamper broken without an axe falls apart into 2 hemp fibre, 4 wicker and 2 sawdust, like BTW

Bug Fixes

  • Stone, gravel and other fast ground no longer speed you up while swimming or wading; ground only changes your speed when you walk on it out of the water
  • A new world gives one quest book, not two (the respawn book now only comes after a death)
  • Creating a new world no longer crashes with Distant Horizons and Chunky installed together
  • Clay and nether brick loose stairs now take 6 bricks (they took 3 but broke back into 6)
