Restore a fractured archive. Shape your expedition. Bring its secrets home.
The Ember Atlas adds a handcrafted adventure chapter to Minecraft Java 1.21.1. Travel from a frontier camp into the Cinder Archive, choose your combat role, solve its sigil puzzle, and confront the Unbound Surveyor.
Features
-
Three combat roles: Choose Guardian, Hunter, or Weaver, with a signature ability and a choice of passives.
-
Optional expedition risks: Add challenges to your next run.
-
Combat and puzzles: Face three enemy types with announced attacks, reconstruct a dawn/noon/dusk sigil sequence, and challenge a two-phase boss.
-
Persistent progression: Keep personal mastery, quest progress, and rewards between expeditions.
-
A changing Archive: After restoration, ordinary sentries remain dormant until attacked. Complete Iona’s follow-up survey to earn the permanent Routekeeper journal title.
-
Shared expeditions: Enroll up to eight players with matching risk choices.
Getting started
Craft the Ember Atlas using a book, an amethyst shard, and a copper ingot. Use it to visit camp, then follow the objectives in your journal. Your first preparation requires nine empty inventory slots for the starter kit.
Press J to open the journal and R to use your signature ability. Both keys are remappable. Sneak-use the atlas to open the journal, and right-click NPCs, sigils, and survey landmarks to interact.
Requirements
Minecraft Java 1.21.1, Java 21, Fabric Loader, and Fabric API. The tested configuration uses Fabric Loader 0.16.14 and Fabric API 0.116.6+1.21.1. Install the mod and Fabric API on both client and server.
Early Alpha
This is an experimental release. Automated progression and persistence tests have passed, but graphical survival playthroughs, normal dedicated-server startup, independent multiplayer clients, pacing, and performance still need acceptance testing. Start in a separate test world and keep backups.
Server restarts or unloaded encounter chunks end the active physical expedition. Return to camp and set out again; personal progress is retained.

Enemies and NPCs currently use vanilla models with custom behavior. Item textures and the project icon are original procedural pixel art. The icon is branding, not a gameplay screenshot. Code, writing, and procedural artwork were developed with AI assistance.
