Exact Key Search for Controlling

Exact Key Search for Controlling makes it easier to find what is bound to a specific key in large modpacks.

Controlling’s ordinary key search can return unrelated key names. Searching key:B, for example, can include Tab, Backspace, and mouse buttons. This addon introduces a separate exactkey: filter that matches the complete displayed key label.

Features

• Search exactkey:B to find bindings assigned to B.

• Search exactkey:"Left Button" for an exact mouse-button label.

• Combine filters, such as exactkey:B name:backpack.

• Use autocomplete for the new filter and key labels.

• Match labels in your current language, ignoring letter case.

• Keep Controlling’s existing key, name, and category searches.

Installation

Install the addon in your client’s mods folder alongside these required dependencies:

• Minecraft Java Edition 1.21.1

• Java 21

• Fabric Loader 0.16.14

• Fabric API 0.116.6+1.21.1

• Controlling 19.0.5 for Fabric

• Searchables 1.0.2 for Fabric

Open Options, Controls, Key Binds, then enter your search. Multiword key labels need quotation marks. This addon does not automatically change any key assignments.

Alpha status

Automated search integration tests passed. Graphical gameplay, actual language switching, saved keybindings, multiplayer, and compatibility with modifier addons remain unverified.
