Description
Slate Chat
Beta. An early build of Slate: expect bugs, you can report them on the Discord.
Slate Chat replaces the in-game chat: lines grouped under each player's face, channel tabs, pictures, GIFs and voice clips in the chat, and pixel emotes. Players without it still read every line as plain text.

Messages
- Lines grouped under each player's face and name, with timestamps; your name highlighted, with a ping.
- Hover a message to copy it, reply or open its link.
- Tabs for the server's chat, team chat and each conversation from Slate Multiplayer.

Pictures, GIFs and voice
- Paste a picture with Ctrl+V, pick a GIF, or hold B to record a voice clip (with Simple Voice Chat).
- F8 records the game as a GIF to send. 24 pixel emotes such as
:fire:and:creeper:. - Everything travels through the server, not through another service.

Requirements
Minecraft 1.21.1 (NeoForge or Fabric, Java 21) and 1.20.1 (Forge or Fabric, Java 17); on Fabric with Fabric API. Needs Slate Core and Slate Multiplayer. It goes on the client, and on the server too for pictures. Simple Voice Chat and MCEF (videos) are optional. Use it instead of another chat mod.
