[MR] Recipe Editor is a convenient in-game recipe creator directly inside Minecraft! No more dealing with complex configuration files, scripts, or datapacks: simply open the editor screen via Mod Menu (in your pause/mods menu), drag & drop items with your mouse, and design your own crafting recipes for any item — from vanilla Minecraft or any installed mods.
This mod was created using AI under human supervision. I do not monetize on CurseForge — just enjoy the game!
If any issues arise, please write to me in comments on CurseForge or github issues!
What can this mod do?
Mod Integration & Recipe Viewers
- Full Modded Support: Modify and create recipes for items from any installed mods! Everything is neatly organized into scrollable mod tabs.
- Vanilla Recipe Book: All your custom and overridden recipes appear in the standard Minecraft Recipe Book with full 1-click auto-crafting support!
- Recipe Viewers Support: Recipe viewer support: official integration with Roughly Enough Items (REI) via its client API — all custom recipes appear immediately in recipes and usages searches, and overridden recipes are properly hidden.
Supports 7 Workstations & Tables
- Crafting Table — full 3x3 grid. Smaller shapes (2x2 or 1x2, like torches or sticks) can be crafted anywhere on the table grid.
- Furnace — smelt ores and items with customizable cooking time (with live seconds tooltip) and experience rewards.
- Blast Furnace — fast smelting for ores, armor, and tools.
- Smoker — fast cooking for food items.
- Stonecutter — precise block cutting.
- Smithing Table — upgrade gear with template, base, and addition material slots.
- Campfire — simple food roasting without burning fuel.
Intuitive Controls & Features
- Mouse Drag & Drop: Hold Left Mouse Button (LMB) on any item in the catalog to drag directly into crafting slots.
- Recipe Inspector: Right Mouse Button (RMB) on any catalog item instantly decompiles and loads its existing recipe into the editor grid.
- Override & Instant Restoration: Editing an existing item recipe cleanly overrides it without duplicate clutter. If you delete a custom recipe from "My Crafts", the original vanilla or modded recipe is instantly restored!
- Multiple Recipe Variants: Create alternative ways to craft your favorite items with the
+button and switch between them using arrows or scrolling the mouse wheel over the crafting grid. - Recipe Conflict Protection: Visual alerts notify you if a crafting shape is already occupied by another item and lets you choose how to resolve it.
- Smart Multilingual Search: Fast search with automatic keyboard layout flipping (e.g. typing in Russian or English layout automatically matches items).
- Catalog Filters: Quickly filter items by All, Uncraftable, Craftable, or My Crafts.
Current Limitations
- When loading and modifying existing recipes, item group (tag) support is preserved (e.g. recipes using "any wood planks" or "any wool" continue to accept all variations). Creating a completely brand new recipe from scratch with arbitrary custom tags is not yet supported.
- Cannot create brand new shapeless free-form recipes (where items can be placed in any random slot).
