SlickType

SlickType is a lightweight chat correction addon for World of Warcraft. It fixes accidental Caps Lock mistakes, common spelling errors, and high-confidence grammar mistakes when you press Enter.

SlickType focuses on improving rushed chat messages while preserving World of Warcraft terminology, player names, acronyms, links, commands, protected words, and intentional wording.

Features

• Caps Lock Correction: Fixes inverted capitalization such as hEY THERE → Hey there.
• Mixed-Caps Correction: Normalizes accidental capitalization such as thIS IS wILD → This is wild.
• All-Caps Correction: Converts accidental all-caps phrases into readable sentence capitalization.
• Offline Spelling Correction: Uses a bundled English dictionary and conservative matching to correct high-confidence missing, extra, duplicated, and transposed letters.
• Known Typo Correction: Includes exact corrections for common mistakes such as teh → the, realy → really, and mesed → messed.
• High-Confidence Grammar Fixes: Corrects mistakes such as you;re → you're, should of → should have, and selected contextual uses of your → you're.
• Custom Corrections: Create personal replacements for typos or shorthand, such as lool → lol or np → No problem.
• Never Correct List: Protect personal vocabulary, slang, names, or other words that SlickType should always leave unchanged.
• Recent Correction History: Review recent automatic corrections and quickly protect a word when a correction is unwanted.
• WoW-Friendly Vocabulary: Preserves common class, specialization, role, dungeon, raid, group, and gameplay terminology.
• Name Preservation: Keeps known player names intact when they can be identified.
• Acronym Preservation: Retains common abbreviations such as DPS, LFG, PVP, and RNG.
• Link and Markup Protection: Preserves item links, spell links, hyperlinks, color markup, and other embedded chat data.
• Slash Command Protection: Messages beginning with a slash command are never modified.
• One-Time Bypass: Prefix a message with !! to send it without correction. The prefix is removed automatically.
• Personal Rules Backup: Export and import Never Correct words and custom corrections.
• Profiles: Save, load, import, export, and switch between correction configurations.
• Paged Options Panel: Organizes general settings, personal word rules, correction history, and profiles in a compact four-page interface.
• Offline Operation: All corrections happen locally when a chat message is submitted. No external program or internet connection is required.

How to Use

• /slicktype: Opens the Options.
• /stype: Also opens the Options.

Type and send chat normally. When you press Enter, SlickType checks the completed message and applies enabled, high-confidence corrections before Blizzard sends it.

Open the options panel to configure capitalization correction, spelling and grammar correction, protected words, custom replacements, correction history, profiles, and UI scaling.

Prefix a message with !! when you intentionally want to bypass SlickType once:

Customization

SlickType includes separate controls for general correction behavior, inverted and mixed capitalization, long all-caps phrases, spelling and grammar correction, acronym preservation, player-name preservation, Never Correct words, custom corrections, recent correction history, personal-rule backup and import, UI scaling, and profiles.
