PalaTracker

PalaTracker is a Paladin ability-tracking and combat-alert addon for WoW Forever.

It allows you to track selected abilities, display them when they become ready, play configurable alert sounds, and warn you when you enter combat without the required Seal active.

• Track any learned Paladin spell by name or spell ID.
• Enable or disable individual tracked spells.

⚡ Ready Ability Detection

PalaTracker monitors tracked abilities and displays their icons when they are ready to use.

The tracker checks:

• Whether the spell is known.
• Whether the spell is currently usable.
• Whether sufficient resources are available.
• Whether the spell is on cooldown.
• Whether charges are available.

Unavailable abilities are automatically hidden until they become ready again.

🔊 Alert Sounds

PalaTracker can play an audio alert when a tracked ability becomes ready.

Available sounds include:

• Raid Warning
• Tell Message
• Level Up
• Holy Cast
• Ready Check
• Quest Complete
• PvP Flag Taken
• Auction Window
• Simon Chime
• Map Ping
• LFG Ready
• Alarm Clock

The selected sound can be tested directly from the configuration panel.

🛡️ Missing Seal Alert

PalaTracker can warn you when you enter combat without the required Seal active.

The alert provides:

• Large on-screen MISSING SEAL warning
• Animated warning display
• Audio alert when the warning first appears
• Automatic removal once the required Seal state is detected
• Automatic reset when leaving combat
• Independent enable/disable option

🖱️ Movable Tracker

The tracker can be positioned anywhere on the screen.

• Unlock the tracker anchor from the configuration panel.
• Drag the anchor to the desired position.
• Anchor position is saved between sessions.
• Ready abilities are automatically arranged from the anchor.
• Anchor is hidden during normal gameplay.

📏 Configurable Icon Size

Customize the size of your tracker icons.

• Adjustable from 32–96 pixels.
• Changes are applied immediately.
• All tracked abilities use the configured size.
• Tracker positioning updates automatically after resizing.

↔️ Configurable Icon Spacing

Control the distance between tracker icons.

• Adjustable from 0–24 pixels.
• Changes are applied immediately.
• Supports both compact and more spread-out tracker layouts.

👀 Tracker Preview

Preview your tracker while configuring the addon.

• Display tracked abilities outside of combat.
• Shows learned and enabled tracked spells.
• Allows the tracker anchor to be positioned visually.
• Preview can be enabled or disabled from the configuration panel.

🔄 Automatic Updates

PalaTracker automatically responds to relevant game events.

The tracker updates when:

• Entering combat
• Leaving combat
• Spell usability changes
• Spell cooldowns change
• Spell charges change
• Known spells change
• Entering the world
• Tracker configuration changes

Rapid spell-state events are combined into a single update to reduce unnecessary processing.

🧠 Spell Detection

PalaTracker uses the spell information provided by the WoW Forever client to determine whether abilities are known and ready.

The addon uses the available C_SpellBook and C_Spell APIs for modern spell detection and state checks.

Spell readiness takes into account:

• Known spell state
• Native spell usability
• Resource requirements
• Cooldown state
• Available charges

Tracked abilities are therefore displayed based on their current game state rather than simply whether the spell exists.

📊 Tracker Ordering

Tracked spells use individual priorities to maintain a consistent display order.

• Newly added spells receive the next available priority.
• Existing profiles automatically receive normalized priorities.
• Ready abilities retain their configured order.
• Priority information persists between sessions.

🛠️ Performance

PalaTracker is designed to minimize unnecessary combat updates.

Rapid spell events are debounced so multiple events occurring close together result in a single tracker evaluation rather than repeated UI updates.

This helps keep the tracker responsive while avoiding unnecessary processing during combat.

Existing tracked-spell configurations are automatically normalized when upgrading.
