Description
MidnightMinimap
MidnightMinimap is a lightweight World of Warcraft Classic addon that replaces the default minimap styling with a Midnight / Dragonflight-inspired minimap frame, while keeping the scope intentionally small and focused.
Important attribution
MidnightMinimap is a fork/spin-off of Dragonflight UI Classic, made specifically to keep only the minimap portion.
It exists because I wanted the minimap look from Dragonflight UI Classic without installing the rest of that UI package.
Original addon: Dragonflight UI Classic
Credit goes to Karl-Heinz Schneider for the original DragonflightUI work and minimap styling/assets this addon is based on.
If you want the full UI experience, please use Dragonflight UI Classic instead.
What the addon does
MidnightMinimap restyles the default minimap into a cleaner Dragonflight-style / Midnight-style presentation for WoW Classic-era clients.
It includes:
- A custom round minimap border and mask
- Styled minimap header with zone text and optional clock
- Restyled tracking button
- Restyled mail icon
- Mouse wheel zoom support on the minimap
- Optional player coordinate display
- Movable minimap frame with lock/unlock support
- Saved settings for position, scale, and visibility options
Commands
Use either:
/midnightminimap/mm
Available commands:
/mm lock- Toggle frame lock/mm scale <n>- Set scale/mm coords- Toggle coordinates/mm header- Toggle the header/mm clock- Toggle the clock/mm zone- Toggle zone text/mm reset- Reset settings to defaults
Moving the minimap
- Shift + Drag to move the minimap
- Shift + Right-Click to lock or unlock it
Scope
This addon is intentionally focused on the minimap only. It does not aim to recreate the entire Dragonflight UI Classic addon. Its goal is simply to provide the minimap style in a smaller standalone package.
Compatibility
Designed for WoW Classic / TBC Anniversary-style clients.
