LoreReader expands WoW's built-in Text-to-Speech system and adds convenient playback controls to supported Blizzard interfaces.

Features

Read Quest text, objectives, progress, completion text, and NPC Gossip.

Read Dungeon, Raid, and Boss lore directly from the Adventure Guide, including complete Dungeon or Raid narration.

Read Books, Scrolls, Quest Items, and other readable objects.

Support for NPC speech bubbles including Say, Yell, Whisper, and Emotes.

Additional support for Delves, Lorewalking, Trading Post flavor text, and Reputation descriptions.

Voice Profiles

Create separate TTS profiles for Masculine, Feminine, and Neutral voices.

Custom Voice Profiles can be created and assigned to individual NPCs by NPC ID or partial name.

Optional Race Assignments allow selected races to use their own Voice Profiles while all other races continue using the normal settings.

Custom Pronunciation

Custom Pronunciation lets you change how entire words, names, titles, abbreviations, or fantasy terms are spoken without changing the text shown in-game.

Rules can be global or character-specific and organized into categories.

Speech Bubble Exclusions

Individual NPCs can be excluded from automatic speech-bubble TTS by NPC ID or partial name.

Exclusions can be limited to Open World, Dungeons, Delves, Raids, Scenarios, Battlegrounds, Arenas, Housing, or applied everywhere.

NPC Say, Yell, Whisper, NPC Emotes, Boss Emotes, and Boss Whispers can be enabled or disabled individually.

LoreReader can also optionally retrieve Raid Boss names directly from the Adventure Guide and automatically exclude their speech bubbles while inside Raids.

Speech Priority & Speech Focus

LoreReader prevents different dialogue sources from talking over each other by prioritizing native voiced dialogue over TTS.

Optional Speech Focus temporarily reduces Music, Sound Effects, and Ambience while speech is active and restores the original Blizzard audio levels afterwards.

MiniPlayer

The MiniPlayer allows narration to continue after closing the original interface.

Depending on the content, it can display Dungeon or Raid artwork, Boss models, Quest portraits, Quest target NPCs, or a compact text-only layout.

LoreReader is designed to integrate naturally with the modern World of Warcraft UI while remaining lightweight and using Blizzard's own systems wherever possible.
