Kedge's Totem Ring

A radial totem menu for shamans, on a single key.

Hold the key and a ring opens at your cursor. Point at a totem and release the key to drop it. Release in the centre to cancel.

How it works

The ring has four element slots, laid out like a compass:

• Earth at the top
• Fire on the right
• Water at the bottom
• Air on the left

Each slot shows the last totem you cast from that element. Release on the slot to cast it again.

Point at a slot and the rest of that element's totems open in a line beyond it. Release on any totem in the line to cast it. That totem becomes the new default for the element.

Your defaults are saved per character.

The ring only shows totems your character knows. New totems appear as you learn them. An element with no known totems shows its symbol on a dimmed orb.

The ring works in combat.

Setup

1. Open Key Bindings and find Kedge's Totem Ring under AddOns.
2. Bind a key.
3. Hold the key in game.

Type /ktr to open the options.

Customising

Open Options > AddOns > Kedge's Totem Ring, or type /ktr.

• Layout sets ring size, line spacing, orb sizes, icon fill, the cancel zone, backdrop strength and idle icon brightness. Changes apply straight away, with a live preview.
• Totem Order sets the order of totems along each element's line. The first known totem is the element's default until you cast another.

Layout and order are shared across characters. Each character keeps its own last-cast totems.

Notes

• WoW only allows a spell to be cast on a key press or click, so totems cast when you release the key, not when you hover.
• The element default updates when you release, even if the cast fails, for example from being out of mana or on cooldown.
• If you open the ring near the edge of the screen, long totem lines can run off it. Reduce line spacing or orb size in Layout if this happens.
• Settings changed during combat take effect when combat ends.

Troubleshooting

If releasing the key opens and closes the ring without casting, type /console ActionButtonUseKeyDown 0 and try again. Please leave a comment saying whether that fixed it.
