Puts the new rank of a spell on your action bars when you train it.
How it works
When you learn a new rank, every action button holding your previous best rank is swapped for the new one, in the same slot. A line in chat says what changed, for example:
Healing Wave Rank 4 placed on 2 buttons.
No more dragging spells out of the spellbook after every trainer visit.
Deliberate low ranks are kept
Classic players often keep a low rank on purpose, such as a cheap Rank 1 heal. Rank Updater only upgrades buttons that held your best rank before you trained.
If you know Healing Wave Rank 3 and keep Rank 1 on a key, training Rank 4 updates your Rank 3 buttons and leaves Rank 1 where it is.
Features
- Automatic updates after every trainer visit.
- Keeps deliberate low ranks on the buttons where you put them.
- Never update list. Drag a spell from your spellbook onto the slot in the options, and every rank of it is left alone.
- Update all buttons puts your best rank on every button at once. Useful the first time you install the addon.
- Chat message listing what changed, which can be turned off.
- Macros are never changed.
/cast Healing Wavealready uses your best rank. - Combat safe. If an update is blocked by combat, it waits until combat ends.
First install
On first login, Rank Updater records your current spells and changes nothing. If your bars already have old ranks on them, press Update all buttons in the options, or type /kru all.
Options
Everything is set in Options > AddOns > Kedge's Rank Updater, or type /kru. No file editing needed. Settings are saved per character.
Commands
/kruopens the options./kru allupdates every button now.
Installation
- Copy the
KedgesRankUpdaterfolder intoInterface/AddOns. - Restart the client.
