Highest Rank Check

Highest Rank Check is a spell-rank management addon for WoW Forever.

It detects lower-rank spells on your action bars and allows you to quickly replace them with the highest rank currently available to your character.

✨ Features

🔎 Lower-Rank Spell Detection

Highest Rank Check scans your action bars and compares the spells currently placed there against the highest ranks known by your character.

The addon identifies:

• Spells using an older rank.
• The current rank on the action bar.
• The highest rank currently available.
• Action-bar spells that can be upgraded.
• Unknown rank information without incorrectly treating it as Rank 1.

📚 Spellbook Check Ranks

A dedicated Check Ranks button is available directly from the spellbook.

The button:

• Appears automatically when the spellbook opens.
• Hides automatically when the spellbook closes.
• Runs a manual action-bar rank check.
• Supports the available WoW Forever spellbook frame variants.

☑️ Spell Selection

Detected lower-rank spells are presented in a selection window before replacements are made.

The selection interface supports:

• Individual spell selection.
• Select All
• Select None
• Replace Selected
• Replace All
• Cancel

This allows you to review detected spells before making changes to your action bars.

🔄 Replace Selected Spells

Replace only the lower-rank spells you choose.

• Replace Selected updates only the spells you have selected.
• Uses the highest-rank spell currently available to your character.
• Reports each replacement in chat.
• Verifies action-bar replacement after the update.

⚡ Replace All

Use Replace All to update every detected lower-rank spell in one operation.

This is useful after learning several new spell ranks and wanting to quickly update your action bars.

🛡️ Safe Spell Replacement

Highest Rank Check uses the available WoW Forever spell APIs to perform spell replacement.

The addon also verifies action-bar slots after replacement to help ensure the expected spell was placed successfully.

🔁 Automatic Rank Checking

Highest Rank Check can automatically check your action bars when relevant spell information changes.

Automatic checking can occur when:

• The player enters the world.
• Known spell information changes.
• The spellbook becomes available.
• A manual rank check is performed.
• The Check Ranks spellbook button is used.

Automatic checking can be enabled or disabled through the addon settings.

⌨️ Slash Commands

Highest Rank Check provides simple slash commands for manual control.

Available commands include:

• /hrc
• /hrc check
• /hrc debug
• /checkranks

The Options panel provides configuration for:

• Automatic rank checking.

Highest Rank Check is built specifically around the WoW Forever 1.60.1 / Interface 16001 environment.

The addon uses the modern spellbook and spell APIs available in the WoW Forever client, including the available C_SpellBook and C_Spell functionality.

The spellbook integration is designed to work with the spellbook UI used by WoW Forever.
