Forever Simple Movable Windows lets you drag Blizzard's windows by their title bars, and they open where you left them next time. The windowed world map can also be resized from its corner. In game it is listed as Movable Forever Windows.
What it moves
- Windows. Looking For Group, Talents & Spellbook, Guild & Communities, Map & Quest Log, the AddOns list, centred panels and others as they load. The drag strip stops short of the close button, so the X always works.
- Bags. Combined and single bags each move by the empty part of their title bar, and keep their place when Blizzard rescales them.
- World map size. Drag the windowed map's lower-right corner to resize it. The map picture refits the next time the map opens or the quest log beside it is shown or hidden.
- Saved. Positions and the map size are kept across sessions, and put back when you change the UI scale or screen size.
What it leaves alone
Full-screen windows, windows that already drag, and the loot window, which Edit Mode places, keep their own behaviour. Ordinary windows move in combat too, but the game locks protected ones during a fight; they go back to their saved place when it ends.
How to use it
- Drag a window by its title bar, or a bag by the empty part of its title bar.
- Options → AddOns → Movable Forever Windows (or
/fwindows) has Save map layout and Reset layout, which puts every window back to Blizzard's place on a second click.
Works better with
These addons are optional. Install any of them alongside this one for more:
- Forever Simple Settings:
/fwindowsopens these options in its big, resizable window, even in combat, instead of the game's small Options window.

Bugs and ideas: leave a comment on this page with a screenshot or the steps that cause it, and your class. I play one character, so reports from other classes and situations help most.
