Forever Simple Combat

See whether you and your target are in combat, and how long until an enemy player drops out of it.

Forever Simple Combat shows whether you and enemy players are in combat in World of Warcraft: Forever, and estimates how long until an enemy player drops out of it, for example to know when Sap can land. In game it is listed as Forever Combat.

Small boxes you can move anywhere:

  • Target box and mouseover readout: Combat ~3.2s while an enemy player is in combat, Out of combat once the flag clears.
  • Your own box: your combat timer, in tiny or full text.
  • Enemy nameplates: a tiny readout beside each plate.

What the readouts mean:

  • ~3.2: seconds until the timer runs out, counted from the last hostile action seen.
  • <3.2: already fighting when first seen; the latest likely drop.
  • ~?: still fighting after the window, so something the addon cannot see keeps them in.
  • PvE: a creature has them on its threat list; no timer.
  • 0: out of combat.

How it estimates. Player-vs-player combat lasts a few seconds after each hostile action, and damage over time does not extend it; the addon recognises and ignores DoT ticks. It starts from 5 seconds and learns the real timeout and exit timing from the exits it sees. Forever hides auras and enemy spell targets from addons, so ~? is the honest answer when something unseen keeps a player in combat.

Every setting is in Options → AddOns → Forever Combat (or /fcombat): which boxes show, their look and size, nameplate placement, and the estimate options.

I make small, focused addons for WoW Forever under the "Forever Simple" name. Functionality in a flat, compact look that stays out of your way. Comments and feedback are very appreciated
