Ever looked at a recipe like Engineering's Target Dummy and wondered how many bolts, modulators and bars it really takes? Craft Planner works the whole chain out for you. Pick a recipe in your profession window and a panel beside it shows every part you need to make first, how many of each, and all the raw materials, counted against what's in your bags and bank.
For example, the Target Dummy needs a Copper Modulator and 2 Handful of Copper Bolts, and the Copper Modulator needs 2 more bolts. Craft Planner shows you need 4 Handful of Copper Bolts, 1 Copper Modulator, and 5 Copper Bars, 2 Linen Cloth, 1 Bronze Bar and 1 Wool Cloth.
Features
- The whole chain. Parts made from other parts are broken down too, and the counts are multiplied at every step. Parts are listed in the order to make them.
- Recipes that make several. A craft that makes 2 Bronze Bars or 200 shot is counted properly. Spares are shown in lilac and used later in the chain.
- Uses what you already have. Parts in your bags are used first, so you only make the rest.
- Counts your bank too. Every time you visit your bank, Craft Planner remembers what's in it, so your bank is counted anywhere, even after logging out. Have shows your bags plus the bank in blue, like "3 +5", and updates as you move things around.
- Easy to read. Need, Have and Make columns for parts; Need, Have and Missing for materials. A green tick means you have enough, red shows what you're short.
- Click a part to make it. A confirmation box shows how many you'll make, what it uses, and anything you need nearby, like a forge. Short on materials? It offers to make as many as you can.
- Rather not empty your bank? If some of a part are already in your bank, you can choose to make them from the materials in your bags instead. One checkbox, and your choice is remembered.
- Parts from your other professions. Need Copper Bars while you're in Engineering? Click them and choose Open Smelting. Craft Planner picks the recipe and the amount, keeps showing your Engineering plan while you smelt so you can watch the bars count up, and a box asks whether to go back to Engineering when you're done. Type /cplan back to bring that box back later.
- Auction house search. At the auction house, every material you're short of gets a spyglass button that searches for it, and one button searches for everything you're missing. With Auctionator installed it opens a single Auctionator shopping search with the amounts you need. Without it, the game's own auction window searches one item per click. You buy as usual, one click per purchase.
- Buy from vendors. Talking to a vendor? Every missing material that vendor sells gets a bag button, and one button buys everything on your list that this vendor has. A confirmation box shows each item, how many, the cost and your total before anything is bought. Items sold in bundles and limited stock are handled, and it won't let you buy what you can't afford.
- Stays out of the way. At the auction house or a vendor, the panel sits beside that window instead of on top of it, and moves back when you're done.
- Keeps your Create amount. The game puts the Create box back to 1 whenever your bags change. Craft Planner keeps the number you chose until you close the profession window.
- Recipes you haven't learned yet are planned too, so you can see what a higher recipe will take. They're marked in orange, and clicking one tells you how to learn it. With Reagent Scout (version 1.7 or later) also installed, it shows exactly where and at what skill. Craft Planner works fine without it.
- Works the first time. Recipe data for every profession is built in, taken from the game itself.
- Move it anywhere. Untick Lock on the panel and drag it where you like. The panel sizes itself to fit long item names.
- Options window and minimap button. Turn bags, bank and unlearned recipes on or off, lock the panel, or hide the minimap button.
- Lightweight. No libraries, and it only does work while a profession window, your bank, a vendor or the auction house is open.
How to use
- Open a profession and select a recipe. The plan appears beside the window.
- Set the amount in the profession window's Create box, and the plan follows it.
- Visit your bank once on each character so the bank can be counted.
- Click a part in "Make first" to make it, or to open the profession that makes it.
- At the auction house, click a spyglass to search for a missing material, or the Search auction house button for all of them.
- At a vendor, click a bag to buy a missing material, or Buy from vendor for everything that vendor sells.
- Left-click the minimap button for options, right-click it to turn the planner panel on or off, and drag it around the minimap.
Type /cplan (or /craftplanner) to open the options, /cplan toggle to turn the planner panel on or off, /cplan lock to lock or unlock the panel, or /cplan reset to move it back beside the profession window. Craft Planner also has an entry in Options → AddOns.
Good to know
Craft Planner works with every profession that uses the standard profession window. In Classic Era, Enchanting and Poisons use a different window, so they aren't covered.
