Button Burst: No Missing Minimap Buttons

Too many buttons crowding your minimap? Button Burst gathers them into one glowing, easy-to-spot button. Click it and a pop-up bursts open with every one of your addon buttons inside. Every one. No missing buttons, no invisible buttons, no blank gaps.

No missing buttons

You may have tried a minimap button collector before and found that the badge says 12 buttons, but only 5 show up. That happens for two reasons, and Button Burst fixes both:

• Faded buttons. Popular minimap addons such as SexyMap fade addon buttons out until your mouse is over the minimap. Once those buttons are moved into a pop-up, your mouse is never over the minimap, so they stay invisible. Button Burst keeps every collected button fully visible.
• Hidden buttons. The LibDBIcon library that most addons use for their minimap buttons locks them to a lower drawing layer. A collector that doesn't unlock them ends up drawing them behind its own window. Button Burst unlocks them so they always sit on top.

The red count badge always matches what you see in the pop-up. Send a button back to the minimap and Button Burst puts everything back the way its addon left it, fading included.

Features

• One catchy button. A gold-ringed button with a soft pulsing glow and a red badge showing how many buttons it holds. Pick from several icons, and turn the glow or badge off if you prefer.
• You decide where every button lives. The options list every minimap button found. Put each one in the pop-up, keep it on the minimap edge exactly where its addon puts it, or hide it completely. Changes apply straight away, no reload needed.
• Move it anywhere. Drag the button around the minimap edge, or Shift + drag to pull it off the minimap and place it anywhere on your screen. Works with round and square minimaps.
• Make it any size. Ctrl + mouse wheel over the button resizes it, from 60% up to 250%.
• A tidy pop-up. Choose the number of columns and the icon size. The pop-up opens toward the middle of your screen so it never runs off an edge, and it can close by itself when your mouse leaves or after you click a button (both optional, Esc works too).
• Finds them all. Picks up LibDBIcon buttons (used by most addons, such as Bartender4, Plater, TipTac and RareScanner) as well as classic hand-made minimap buttons. Buttons from addons that load late are picked up as they appear.
• Leaves Blizzard alone. The game's own minimap buttons (tracking, mail, clock, zoom) are never moved.
• Lightweight. No libraries required.

How to use

• Left-click the button to open or close the pop-up.
• Right-click for the options and the button list.
• Drag to slide it around the minimap. Shift + drag to pull it off the minimap.
• Ctrl + mouse wheel to resize it.

Type /burst to open the pop-up, /burst options for the settings, or /burst help for all the chat commands. Button Burst also has an entry in Options → AddOns.

Please don't run Button Burst together with another minimap button collector, as both would try to move the same buttons.

Button Burst is one of a few addons I came up with to make quality of life easier for myself while playing WoW Classic Era. The idea and design are my own, and no other author's addon code or artwork is used. I looked at how other minimap button collectors find buttons, but none of their code is included.
