Fight with a weapon in each hand.
Press a second one-handed melee weapon on the hotbar and it goes in your left hand. Your left arm swings it and it adds damage. Two Dragon Scimitars, one in each hand.
COMPATIBILITY
✔ Single player · ✘ Co-op guest
✔ Dedicated server · ✔ Controller
Install on the server and on each player's PC. Co-op guests get no off-hand damage, and others don't see your off-hand swing.

The game gives you one melee weapon at a time. With this mod you hold two, and the second one really swings: your left arm follows your right through the combo. No new items, no RuneSchema, no new buttons. It uses the weapons you already own.
What it does
- Two weapons: the first press goes to your right hand, the second to your left, in either order. Two different weapons work, and so do two of the same, as long as you have two in your bag. Press a third weapon and it replaces the right one. The left stays.
- A left swing: your left arm swings a mirrored version of the right swing, with its own white trail. Sword, scimitar, dagger and mace each have their own swings, one for every step of the combo.
- Extra damage: the off-hand adds 50% per main-hand attack by default. You set it with a slider in Mod Menu.
- XP and wear: off-hand hits earn normal Attack XP. Off-hand wear follows the weapon that struck the main hit. A Dragon Scimitar showed no wear in my tests, so a pair with one in it shows no wear on either weapon.
- Left grip at rest: the left weapon turns in your hand at rest, so the pair reads mirrored. The arm itself stays where it is. It goes back to the normal grip for attacks, on a mount and when you interact with something.
- Controller: works. Choosing weapons on the wheel with the stick fills both hands, RB attacks with the left swing and the off-hand hit, swaps and riding work, and you can reach and use Mod Menu with it. I tested with a virtual Xbox pad, not a physical one.

Swapping with a pair in hand
- Press the left weapon: it goes to your bag. The right stays.
- Press the right weapon: it goes away and the left weapon moves to your right hand. Press the one you put away again and it fills the left.
- Two-hander, tool, bow, staff or crossbow: it takes over your hands. Then press one weapon of the pair and it comes back alone. A second press, on the other weapon, fills the left.
- Shield or torch: it replaces the left weapon, which goes to your bag. The right stays.
The damage
Measured on a pair of Dragon Scimitars: the main hit did 102, the off-hand did 51, and the off-hand landed about a quarter second after the main hit. That gap changes a little with the weapon and the combo step.

- 50% is the RuneScape 3 rule, and it is the default here. It is a percent of the hit that just landed, so it follows combo steps and crits.
- Two different weapons: the attack and the main hit follow the stronger weapon, in either hand. The weaker one adds a share. Measured at 50% on the first combo step, the same in either order: Iron Sword + Steel Sword 60 + 22.8, Iron Sword + Dragon Scimitar 102 + 27.2, Iron Dagger + Steel Mace 73 + 18. Enemy health loses whole numbers, so 22.8 takes 23 and 27.2 takes 28.
- Misses: a whiff takes no off-hand hit, no wear and no XP.
- Slider at 0: the extra hit, its XP and its wear are off. The left swing stays.
What it leaves out
- Pairs never include two-handers, bows, crossbows or whips. Only one-handed melee weapons pair up. Crossbows do not pair: press a one-handed weapon with a crossbow in hand and it replaces the crossbow, same as with the mod off.
- Riding: the pair stays held, but you get the main hit only. No off-hand hit while mounted.
- Whips are not in 1.0. I'm looking at them for a later version. While you hold a whip, your weapons swap the way they do without the mod.
- No left swing on some attacks: I tried a special attack and it plays as normal, with no left arm and no off-hand hit. Sprint, jump and visceral attacks are the same by design, but I could not run them in a test.
The catch: enemies can interrupt your combo more
On the mace and on Dragon Scimitars, the off-hand hit often gets you interrupted before the last combo step, the mace the most. Setting the slider to 0 (swing only, no extra hit) largely removes that, at the cost of the extra damage. The sword hardly changes. My best reading is that the left hit makes the enemy recover sooner, so it gets its own swing in. I haven't proven that part. I kept the left hit anyway and I would rather you hear it from me.
How often I reached the last combo step at normal speed, out of 12 tries, mod off / slider 50 / slider 0, in two separate game launches:
- Dragon Scimitars: 12 / 6 / 12, then 12 / 3 / 12.
- Sword: 11 / 11 / 12, then 12 / 11 / 12. One slider 50 try in the first launch did not count, so that 11 is out of 11.
These were one level 100 enemy at one spot, so take them as a guide, not a rate. I have no paired numbers for the dagger or other scimitars, so I make no claim for them.
Settings
All live in Mod Menu (Esc > MODS > Dual Wield), or in config.txt in the mod folder (restart the game after editing it). Changes in Mod Menu apply right away.
- Dual Wield on (on): off goes back to one melee weapon at a time. Turning it off puts the left weapon in your bag, after the swing if you are in one. In my tests it was there by about 5 seconds.
- Off-hand damage (50%, 0 to 100 in steps of 5): what the second weapon adds to each hit that lands, as a percent of that hit.
Only in config.txt: Verbose (false), extra lines in UE4SS.log for bug reports.

Install
- Install UE4SS for RSDragonwilds.
- Recommended: install Mod Menu for the settings in game. Without it the mod still runs, and you change the settings in
config.txt.
- Extract the zip into your game folder (the one that has
RSDragonwilds inside). It puts two folders in place:
- the
DualWield folder into RSDragonwilds/Binaries/Win64/ue4ss/Mods/
- the
DualWield pak folder (DualWield_P .pak, .ucas and .utoc) into RSDragonwilds/Content/Paks/~mods/
No RuneSchema needed.
On Game Pass: use the BE version of UE4SS with the SCO signature, the normal build does not load there. Game Pass also installs the game under Binaries/WinGDK/ instead of Binaries/Win64/, so the DualWield Lua folder goes in RSDragonwilds/Binaries/WinGDK/ue4ss/Mods/. The pak folder should stay in RSDragonwilds/Content/Paks/~mods/. I haven't tested Game Pass.
To uninstall, delete both DualWield folders. Your left weapon stays in your bag, nothing lost.
Good to know
- Your items: no item lost through save, reload or removing the mod. I compared every item and its wear before and after each of those.
- Worn out weapons: if your right weapon wears to 0, the left moves to the right hand and the worn one stays in the bag.
- After a load: the game itself brings you back with the left hand empty and the weapon in your bag. If you had a pair, the mod remembers the left weapon in its own file,
Saved\DualWield-<character>.txt, and puts it back on its own about 40 seconds after the map loads, so give it a moment. A left weapon on its own stays in the bag until you press it.
- Shields, torches, two-handers and tools: they equip the same with the mod on or off.
- First Person: tested. Same damage and same hotbar presses as third person.
- Durability Sliders: tested. Loss 0 gives no wear on either weapon, and I saw no conflict.
- Mounted Combat: tested. The pair stays held while you ride and you get the main hit only, as above.
- Transmog: tested. Hands and damage are fine with it on. I did not check how the outfit looks.
- Quick Swap: tested. A press buffered inside a swing applies after the swing, and the pair rules hold.
- Auto Tool: tested. U takes the tool out from a pair. Press your weapons to get them back.
- Tool Belt: pressing its key with a pair held left the pair alone. I have not confirmed moving a tool with a pair held.
- Stowed Weapons (another author's mod): not tested.
- Right-hand combo: step order, timing and dodge cancel match the game when nothing interrupts you. I ran 40 chains at normal speed, 4 off and 4 on for each of sword, scimitar, Dragon Scimitar, dagger and mace: the order never changed and steps stayed within about 0.06 s of the game on average. A shorter rerun on the final build stayed within about 0.07 s. For dodge cancel I tried 3 rolls each on combo steps 1 to 3 with a sword pair and a Dragon pair, on and off, and they started at about the same time.
- Not sure it's running? UE4SS.log shows
[DualWield] loaded v1.0.0: on, off-hand damage 50%.
<small>Tested on RuneScape: Dragonwilds (Steam build 26162923) with UE4SS 3.0.1 and Mod Menu 2.0.1, solo on test characters, with real hotbar keys and a real attack click. The female body is tested too: swing, grip and damage, same numbers. Not tested yet: hosting with a guest connected, Game Pass.</small>
