Description

The item and recipe half of Party Hats

This is the RuneSchema half of Party Hats. It adds the nine hats as items, their stats and their Crafting Table recipes. On its own it won't give you a hat, so install the main project too.

Needs UE4SS, RuneSchema, Party Hats and Cosmetic Kit.

Their own Party Hats section at the Crafting Table

What's in this half

  • Nine items: the Black, Blue, Golden, Green, Purple, Rainbow, Red, White and Yellow party hat, each with its own inventory icon.
  • Their stats: the same as the Chef's Hat, a basic head item with +1 melee, ranged and magic defense, weight 2.0.
  • Their recipes: at the Crafting Table, in their own "Party Hats" section, open from the start. Each hat costs 10 Wool Cloth, 6 Coarse Thread and 4 Wool Thread, the same recipe as the Chef's Hat, but without the Cooking 40 perk the Chef's Hat needs.

The hat model, the textures and the pack file that puts the hat on your head are all in the main Party Hats project, and Cosmetic Kit does the drawing. That page has the pictures, the settings and the full details.

Why two projects?

The items are added through RuneSchema, and CurseForge keeps RuneSchema files in their own section. The rest of the mod goes in the UE4SS section. So the mod is split in two, and you need both.

Install

  1. Install UE4SS for RSDragonwilds. RuneSchema needs the UE4SS 3.0.1 "latest" build (f6d5f942), and that's the one I tested with.
  2. Install RuneSchema (link at the bottom of this page), version 0.8.0 or newer. That's the version I tested 2.0.0 with.
  3. Install Cosmetic Kit and the main Party Hats project (its page says where its folders go).
  4. Extract this project's zip into RSDragonwilds/Binaries/Win64/ue4ss/Mods/RuneSchema/mods/. It holds one PartyHats folder.

On Game Pass the game lives under Binaries/WinGDK/ instead of Binaries/Win64/, so this folder goes under RSDragonwilds/Binaries/WinGDK/ue4ss/Mods/RuneSchema/mods/. If you install with Vortex, check that is where it ended up.

To uninstall, delete this PartyHats folder and the main project's two. If RuneSchema stays installed, its save cleanup removes the party hats from your character the next time you load it, and putting the mod back won't bring them back.

Good to know

  • Coming from 1.x on Nexus Mods? These are the same item files as 1.1.0, so the hats on your character and in your chests stay.
  • Same files I tested. This project and the main one hold the same files as the version I tested, split in two. Once both are extracted, every file sits where it did in my test.
  • Single player only, so far. I haven't tried it in co-op. Not tested yet: a controller, Game Pass, installing through Vortex, and what happens to a character wearing the hats when you uninstall.
  • Credits: RuneSchema by the RSDW Modding Community (jonesing4space), which adds the items and recipes, and UE4SS.
