WOOD-MARROW

General aspect.

Wood-Marrow is a Horror survival game that takes Hardcore Minecraft and adds a Horrifying twist into the mix. Along side many realistic vanilla+ features in order to keep the long-term gameplay intreasting! This modpack did NOT just copy paste every cave dweller it fould on the Curse forge mod-list. instead. Combed through every popular horror mod and picked out the few quality ones that fit the sanario and theme of the game. Every dweller should in some way fit into the game as if its suppost to be there. they arnt so agressive its annoying but at the same time not so docile its boring.

Many hours of play testing went into this project, not only by the developer of the modpack. But by many bystanders. Feedback was taken and accounted for accordingly for the best experience possible for the player.

The modpack has MANY Peformance mods in play to ensure the best possible Performance. To my knowledge this modpack on its standard Graphical settings can be ran on the average Gaming Computer. (RTX 3050 and higher). 8gig's of ram or higher and with a solid internet connection. If the modpack is still having trouble running on a low end computers then a simple settings tweak should make everything come into play for you. The average Gaming Computer should be able to run this no problem!

Gameplay.

THE WILD LIFE.

Throughout the world, You will find that no natural mobs such as Zombies, skeletons, creepers or spiders spawn. This is intentional. Your only true Enemy is the Twisted abnominations that lurk around the world. You still will run into unfriendly faces such as the Pillagers here and there but they have their own plans. Interferance may result in a war. Although bosses like the Ender dragon, Wither and Warden still exsist. It is not enforced to seek out a fight with them. This is all done in a Result to make a Realistic hardcore experience within the confines of minecraft. While still trying to keep gameplay intreasting.

NATURAL PROGRESSION.

Progressing throughout the game is Roughly the same. But with new body hazards such as a Thirst and Tempature system things are tilted toward a more slowed and layed back Progression track. Tasks such as tree chopping, mining, exploring and farming have all been heavily expanded on. for some examples, Trees are now realistically chopped down, Instead of mined. Ores now only spawn exposed to air in caves that can only be explored with a lightsource. Not to mention the risk the creatures down there bring. A new terrain generation with many new and updated structures should purpose a rich exploration across the world. And last but not least farming crops out of their respective seasons could result in a low crop yeald. Getting to the Iron phase of the game should take much more time than traditional Minecraft. Not to mention maintaining yourself in the iron phase. Just by the time it takes to get established in your world. Let alone getting into the iron phase of the game should be enough to show how slow paced this modpack is.

HOME STEADING.

With hiding from monsters should come having a comfy house to hide in. Am I right? With mods such as Farmers Delight and Chipped. You can create your very own dream hiding spot. And then eat like a king while doing so. mixed with the farming tweaks mentioned in Natural Progression shal bring a rich Base keeping experience.

THERE IS NO NETHER.

With no nether being in the game now. Comes many new challanges. Many items needed to progress are in the nether. To make up for this many of the times and ores can be found/crafted in the overworld. The nether has been removed for Gameplay purposes, Lore reasons and many bugs with the dwellers originating from the nether. Without a nether the gameplay feels much different and has a unique learning curve.

THE DWELLERS.

The Twisted creatures that are created stright from our Nighmare fuel have been carfully tested to ensure the gameplay experience is at its peak at all times. All dwellers have been tests for their maxmium efficiency in scaring the player. All dwellers follow a theme for the modpack. You. the player. Every dweller that spawns resembles the character "Steve" In some way shape or form. In which way I refuse to tell. You will just have to see for yourself. The devs of these Dweller mods are truly talented mod developers :)

MULTIPLAYER.

When building the first prototype for the modpack I wanted players to be able to play with there closest friends and feel as close yet far as possible from them. Adding Simple voice chat and many multiplayer character immersion mods made everyone feel so alive. It felt scary not being around others And even scarier knowing they are suffering as worse, possibly even worse than you are. Getting seperated is mostlikely the worst feeling in this game...

OVERALL.

For a general overview for this I have to say there is still lots not covered in this. But this covers the main 6 big changes to Minecraft. within all 6 of these topics there still are many mods that add suddle features that enrich the overall experience of the world you now find yourself in. Reading this is not enough to understand how scary things can get in this game.

Personal thoughts.

I have probably spent more than 30 hours of testing, Tweaking, modding and playing to find the perfect balance for my Modpack to give my players the experence they wish for. I put a lot of time and effort into modding minecraft and I wish for the best possible outcomes for everything. Sofar this modpack has exceeded my innatial expectation of satisfaction, and many others agree with me. I find myself not only playing but enjoying every moment I get on this modpack! The outcome I got making this was nothing what I expected it to be and Im so glad I put in all this time and effort working on this. Although this is my first Published modpack I plan on changing this in the near future with more Projects I wish to share with the public :)
