It's just another normal Minecraft playthrough right? Well, that's not the case at all... Your worlds are infected with ugly and deadly monsters called parasites. These parasites want to end your world and prevent you from playing the game. These parasites will infect every NPC in the game and make your world hostile and unlivable. Tools and resources are added to the world to help you survive against these creatures. Great modpack for players with a lot of Minecraft/modded Minecraft experience.

What to expect:

Parasites are very strong and every stage of the game is dangerous (except stage 0). Even at endgame with the best gear the game will be difficult. Parasites can break blocks and they can enter your base to spawn-camp you if you're not careful. Some parasites may have special abilities which makes them hard to kill. It may take a few worlds/attempts so don't get discouraged because this modpack is meant to be very difficult especially for people who are not familiar with modded Minecraft.

How to play/suggestions:

Recommended number of players is 2 or more because you will die a lot, and friends can help you get your loot back.
Keep resetting worlds until you find a good seed with a village as this can instantly get you started by skipping a lot of grinding.
As of this mod's version, it's seed based and parasites may spawn more or less depending on the seed. So some seeds may feel easier than others.
Scaling HP is added. Kill more mobs/NPCs to get more HP.
First 3 days collect as many resources and XP as possible (food, wood, ores, enchantment table, books) as the world will become dangerous quick. Food is the most important as in later stages, you can't fish, grow crops, and farm animals won't spawn.
Go into the nether for obsidian. Obsidian spikes spawn in lava lakes but you have a limited time to stay in the nether. Press the "GRAVE" key to vein mine so you mine super quick. It's mandatory to build your base out of obsidian.
Press "k" (default key) to open a page for upgrading your gear. Remember, XP is very crucial to surviving and getting good gear to fight later parasites so try not to die often. Crafting the Book of Skills gives you an XP bank to keep your XP safe.
Early parasites can't break Sturdy Stone.
Pets help A LOT.
Phase 2 is when you should start to bunker up and play more carefully as this is when the deadly Assimilated Enderman spawns. They can end your world easily by overwhelming you.
You can slow down progression of the early phases by killing parasites and stopping infection to other mobs. The phases use a point system and parasites get more points by infecting healthy mobs. Phases can come quicker or slower depending on the world.
You can also use lures to slow down/reduce the phases, but this is not recommended as this uses crucial resources.

These are some tips that are introductory. Remember to strategize and learn how to beat these things each death/world. Good luck and have fun.

Config Changes:

Scape and Run: Parasites: Removed Sentry's ability to shred armor durability.
Ores Above Diamonds: Amethyst and Opal ore spawns and vein sizes are buffed.
So Many Enchantments: Removed cursed enchantments, enchantments that doesn't help with the playthrough, and made all enchantments non-treasure (can be found in the enchantment table).
Scaling HP: takes less xp to level up.

How to allocate RAM for smoother gameplay: Open Task Manager -> Open the performance tab -> Press the memory label; your RAM about is written at the top right (e.g. 16 GB).

Less than/equal to 8 GB: 5250 Mb or less.

More than 8 GB: 9000 Mb or more (32 GB: 17,000 mb).
