What's new

YOUR POKEMON THROW THEIR PUNCHES NOW.

Here's what I built.

POKEMON ANIMATE THEIR OWN ATTACKS NOW

The biggest thing I have ever done to how battles look. Until now, a Pokémon using a move played its idle animation while the effects happened around it. Not anymore. The model itself performs the attack — full body, aimed at the opponent — and the defender takes the hit on its body too. Any Pokémon, any size, in any battle you can see. The move effects ride the real body: the fire is on the actual fist, the impact lands where the fist lands.

Every one of these carries the Prime Touch on the caster's body AND the defender's now: Close Combat, Hydro Pump, Ice Beam, Solar Beam, Psychic, Thunderbolt, Thunder, Iron Head, Flare Blitz, Earthquake, Play Rough, Aura Sphere, Dragon Pulse, Dark Pulse, Energy Ball, Shadow Ball, Flash Cannon, Volt Switch, Dragon Dance, Swords Dance, Nasty Plot, Calm Mind — plus burn, poison, paralysis, freeze, and confusion the moment they bite, and misses rock nobody.

30 NEW MOVE ANIMATIONS — EVERY PUNCH IN THE GAME

The full punch family, each with its own element, its own impact, its own sound:

Fire Punch, Ice Punch, Thunder Punch, Shadow Punch, Dynamic Punch, Focus Punch, Mega Punch, Mach Punch, Bullet Punch, Sucker Punch, Drain Punch, Comet Punch, Dizzy Punch, Power-Up Punch, Sky Uppercut, Plasma Fists, Jet Punch, Rage Fist, Meteor Mash, Hammer Arm, Ice Hammer, Double Iron Bash, Surging Strikes, Wicked Blow, Thunderous Kick, Poison Jab.

And four more that aren't punches: Extreme Speed, Quick Attack, Volt Switch, Draco Meteor.

That takes the set to more than fifty moves with their own animations. Go find your favorites.

FLIERS CAN STAY GROUNDED — YOUR CALL

Some of you love that your Charizard soars beside you. Some of you want it walking at your side. Now it's your choice: type /grounded and your fliers keep to the ground — they land beside you and stay there, and they hold the ground inside Pixelmon battles too. One choice, everywhere. Type it again and they take the sky back. The choice sticks, through relogs and everything else.

WARBAND BOND WORKS FOR THE WHOLE BAND

The clan upgrade Warband Bond used to only count if the warband LEADER's clan had it. Now it counts if anyone in the warband carries it — leader or member. A bonded clanmate joining your band opens the extra slots for everyone in it. Best bond counts; two bonded clans don't stack.

To be clear on what this upgrade is, because the old description was fuzzy: Warband Bond adds extra player slots to your warband in the Reaches and Arena. One Pokémon fights beside each trainer in Combat Mode — that's the law, and it isn't changing.

THE LITTLE THINGS THAT WERE WRONG

  • Two of the same Sovereign can never stand at once. Some of you met two Poison Sovereigns during a Sovereign March. That should never have been possible — a Sovereign is one of one. The throne now refuses to raise a king whose twin already walks the Reaches, and the March picks a throne whose king is free.
