Abnormalcy
Abnormalcy is a Vanilla+ pack mainly based around mods by Minecraft Abnormals and Quark Friends. Basically it's meant to be smallish improvements to the game that keep the vanilla feel while still being in-depth. I'm planning to try and keep all the mods here as updated as possible, in an attempt to provide the most up-to-date Vanilla+ experience possible.
Explore
- Find vast new biomes and overhauled vanilla ones. (Atmospheric, Autumnity, Bloomful, Swamp Expansion)
- Explore deep caves and find new mobs and blocks. (Quark)
- Travel the seas, both above and below the waves. Watch out for the Thrashers. (Extra Boats, Upgrade Aquatic)
- Venture out into the Outer End and explore brand new biomes. (The Endergetic Expansion)
Build
- Put your bamboo farms to use and make tropical builds. (Bamboo Blocks)
- Get your beehives ready and make new bee-themed building blocks and flowers. (Buzzier Bees)
- Use all sorts of new blocks to complete that build you couldn't quite figure out. (Quark)
Survive
- Grow some Sweet Berries and cook meatballs in the cold taiga night. (Berry Good)
- Automate your farming with all sorts of new blocks and tools. (Incubation, Quark)
- Make your doggos respawn so singleplayer doesn't feel quite so lonely. (Respawnable Pets)
FAQ
Q. What are Minecraft Abnormals and Quark Friends?
A. Minecraft Abnormals (MCA) is a community focused on making very in-depth Minecraft suggestions. We also make mods out of these suggestions sometimes. Check out the subreddit at r/minecraftabnormals or the Discord here.
Quark Friends are mods that are part of Vazkii's list of Vanilla+ mods. The list overlaps with MCA quite a bit but there's some other stuff there as well.
Q. How often can we expect updates?
A. I'm currently not developing any MCA mods myself so I can't say for sure, but I'd expect quite frequent updates. Obviously bugfixes will be pushed out as soon as possible but content updates might take a little longer so I can give everyone time to prepare their worlds for the update.
Q. What will happen when Minecraft 1.16 comes out?
A. When Forge 1.16 releases and MCA starts updating mods I'll make Abnormalcy 2. It'll be on the same modpack page and once it goes out of beta hopefully you'll be good to transfer Abnormalcy 1 saves. Can't say for sure this far out though.
Q. Why is this Beta?
A. For 1.15 I'm using Beta to indicate that some major worldgen changes might occur before the first full release. In future Minecraft versions I'll use Beta to indicate that not all major mods have been updated yet so you probably shouldn't use your old save.
