Sol's Relic System x Item Rarity
Transform every weapon and armor piece into an RPG relic with randomized stats, leveling, sub-stat upgrades, crit mechanics, set bonuses, and more. This mod introduces a stat-based crit system that replaces Minecraft's vanilla simple jump-crit.

The relic and reroll system in this mod is inspired by the Artifact system from Genshin Impact by HoYoverse. All credit and respect to the original game for the brilliant design that served as the foundation for this mod's mechanics — including stat rolling, milestone upgrades, deterministic seeds, the leveling preview UI, the sub-stat reroll slot machine animation, and the stat summary screen.
📖 What Is This Mod?
Sol's Relic System x Item Rarity is an expansion of Sol's Item Rarity Mod that turns Minecraft's equipment into a full-blown RPG artifact system. Every weapon and armor piece that enters your inventory becomes a Relic — a piece of equipment with randomized main stats, up to 4 sub-stats, an XP-based leveling system, crit mechanics, armor set bonuses, and much more.
If you've ever played Genshin Impact and wished Minecraft had the same kind of artifact grinding, stat optimization, and upgrade excitement — this is the mod for you.
⚠️ This mod REQUIRES Sol's Item Rarity Mod v1.7+ as a dependency. It will not work without it.
✅ Fully Supports and recommends Sol's Damage Indicator v1.1.5+ as optional dependency. (For revamped crit system support)
📍 What this mod adds

With Sol's Relic System, eligible gear can gain:
- 1 Main Stat
- up to 4 Sub-Stats
- Relic Levels and Relic EXP
- Milestone upgrades every 4 levels
- Crit Rate / Crit Damage builds
- Armor set bonuses
- Aster Core progression
- Dust of Enlightenment endgame rerolls
- Phantom weapon stat-stick slots
- A full stat summary screen
This makes the mod great for:
- RPG Minecraft modpacks
- Survival progression servers
- PvE grinding and boss content
- Build-focused min-max gameplay
- Long-term equipment progression
📍What becomes a Relic?
The relic system applies to eligible combat and equipment items, including:
- swords
- axes
- pickaxes
- shovels
- hoes
- bows
- crossbows
- tridents
- many modded weapons and weapon-like tools
- armor pieces
- elytra
The mod also supports modded gear through tags, weapon checks, material checks, and naming heuristics.
If needed, server owners can block specific items or even entire mods with relic_blacklist.json.
📍How Relics work
When an eligible item gets processed by the mod, it receives relic data:
- a main stat
- randomized sub-stats
- a level
- stored relic EXP
- a deterministic upgrade seed
That last part matters: milestone outcomes are locked to the relic itself, so reloading the world does not reroll future milestone results.
📍Main Stat pools
Each relic gets 1 main stat, based on item slot:
| Slot |
Possible Main Stats |
| Helmet |
Crit DMG, Crit Rate, Luck%, ATK SPD, Move SPD |
| Chestplate / Elytra |
DEF%, HP%, ATK% |
| Leggings |
ATK (Flat) |
| Boots |
HP (Flat) |
| Weapons / Tools |
ATK%, ATK SPD, Crit Rate, Crit DMG, Durability% |
| |
|
📍Sub-Stats
Relics can have up to 4 sub-stats.
Possible sub-stats include:
- ATK
- DEF
- HP
- ATK%
- DEF%
- HP%
- Crit Rate
- Crit DMG
- Move SPD
- ATK SPD
- Jump Boost
- Luck%
Notes:
- A sub-stat cannot duplicate the main stat
- Durability% is a weapon main-stat only
- Each sub-stat roll has 4 quality tiers
- Crit sub-stats are intentionally rarer by default than most other rolls

Relic EXP cost scales upward each level, so early upgrades are fast while endgame relics take real investment.
📍Milestone upgrades

Every 4 levels a relic reaches a milestone:
At each milestone the relic will:
- add a new sub-stat if it still has open slots, or
- upgrade one existing sub-stat if it already has 4
The mod shows this through a dedicated milestone upgrade sequence, and if you still have enough materials afterward, you can continue with Upgrade Again.

📍Aster Table
The Aster Table is the mod's main progression block.
It is also the only supported upgrade and reroll station in the current versions of the mod. When Sol's Item Rarity is installed, the Aster Table displays as Legendary rarity.
Use it to:
- awaken eligible gear into relics
- preview relic info
- level relics with Aster Cores
- reroll max-level relics with Dust of Enlightenment
Recipe:

Any item in the solsrelicsystem:aster_cores tag works in the recipe's top-center slot.
📍Aster Cores
Aster Cores are your main relic leveling currency.

| Aster Core |
Default EXP |
Default Drop Chance |
| Tier 1 |
500 |
2.5% |
| Tier 2 |
200 |
5.0% |
| Tier 3 |
80 |
10.0% |
Important:
- Drops only happen if the kill is credited to a player
- Aster Core mob access is controlled by
aster_core_mobs.json
- The table preview only uses the number of cores needed for the shown upgrade step, not blindly the whole stack
By default, the generated Aster Core mob list includes many standard hostiles plus stronger enemies like Piglin Brutes, Elder Guardians, Withers, Ender Dragons, and Wardens.
📍Relic Rarity Ascension/Upgrades
Resonance Core
A max-level relic can be ascended by one rarity at the Aster Table.

Resonance Core I: Common to Uncommon

Resonance Core II: Uncommon to Rare

Resonance Core III: Rare to Epic

Resonance Core IV: Epic to Legendary

Resonance Core V: Legendary to Mythical

Resonance Core VI: Mythical to Supreme
Place a max-level relic and its matching Resonance Core in the Aster Table, review the Current and After comparison, and confirm the ascension.
The item's normal rarity limit still applies. Items capped at Mythical cannot become Supreme, while fixed-rarity and specially controlled relics keep their intended progression.
What Ascension Does
- Preserves the main-stat type.
- Preserves every unlocked sub-stat type.
- Never deletes or duplicates preserved stat types.
- Resets the relic to Level 0 with zero experience.
- Resets stat values to fresh base rolls for the new rarity.
- Resets previous sub-stat upgrade rolls.
- Allows the new rarity to provide additional starting sub-stats through its normal rules.
Ascended relics display Ascended I-VI and add (A1) through (A6) to their names.
How to Obtain Resonance Cores
All six Resonance Cores can be crafted through a Crafting Table progression using lower Resonance Cores and Aster Cores.
Resonance Core I and II can also drop from eligible hostile mobs killed by a player:
- Resonance Core I: 0.8%
- Resonance Core II: 0.5%
By default, eligible enemies include:
- Zombies, Husks, and Drowned
- Skeletons and Strays
- Creepers
- Spiders and Cave Spiders
- Endermen and Endermites
- Witches
- Pillagers, Vindicators, Evokers, and Ravagers
- Blazes, Ghasts, and Magma Cubes
- Silverfish
- Guardians and Elder Guardians
- Phantoms
- Shulkers
- Piglin Brutes
- Withers
- Ender Dragons
- Wardens on Minecraft versions where Wardens exist
Eligibility follows the same configurable mob list used for Aster Core drops. Server owners can add supported modded enemies or remove default enemies through aster_core_mobs.json.
📍Dust of Enlightenment
Dust of Enlightenment is the endgame reroll item.

It can only be used on relics that are:
- Epic rarity or higher
- already at max level
- already have sub-stats
What it does:

- keeps the same sub-stat types
- rerolls the upgrade distribution and final values
- lets you compare old vs new
- lets you choose Keep New or Keep Old
Default mob drop rates:
| Mob |
Default Dust Chance |
| Warden |
5.0% |
| Ender Dragon |
8.0% |
| Wither |
3.0% |
| Elder Guardian |
2.0% |
| Ravager |
1.0% |
| Piglin Brute |
0.5% |
| Vindicator |
0.5% |
Important:
- Dust mob drops only happen when the kill is credited to a player
- Mob-specific Dust rates are controlled by
dust_of_enlightenment_mobs.json
- Existing configs are migrated only when they still use the old default values; custom player/server edits are preserved
Pity system: by default, every 5th reroll triggers pity. On pity rerolls, you can pick 2 target sub-stats, and the system guarantees extra upgrade distribution into those chosen lines.
📍Chest loot
Aster Cores and Dust can also appear in chest loot.
Dust of Enlightenment uses direct final chest chances:
| Chest Category |
Default Dust Chance |
| Common vanilla chests |
1.0% |
| Rare vanilla chests |
3.0% |
| Ancient City / Ice Box |
5.0% |
| End City Treasure |
7.0% |
| Modded namespace chest tables |
3.0% |
Aster Cores still use the separate Aster Core chest multipliers in config.
Version note:
- 1.21.1 NeoForge includes Trial Chambers support
- Trial Chambers normal chests use the common chest category
- Trial Chambers reward tables use the rare chest category
📍Crit system
This mod adds a full Crit Rate / Crit Damage system.
Default settings:
- Base Crit Rate:
5%
- Base Crit Damage:
50%
- Max Crit Rate Cap:
100%
- Vanilla jump crits disabled by default:
Yes
Crit multiplier formula:
50% Crit DMG = 1.0x
100% Crit DMG = 1.25x
150% Crit DMG = 1.50x
200% Crit DMG = 1.75x
250% Crit DMG = 2.00x
Crit stats come from:
- relic main stats
- relic sub-stats
- set bonuses
📍Universal damage scaling
With Universal Damage enabled, relic ATK stats can affect more than melee.
Supported damage ownership includes:
- melee hits
- arrows
- throwable projectiles
- tridents
- magic-like projectile sources
- some tamed or player-owned damage chains
This makes relic builds useful for more than just sword combat.
Material scaling and balance
Relic stats scale with the item's material tier:
| Material Tier |
Multiplier |
| Wood / Leather |
0.45x |
| Stone / Chainmail |
0.60x |
| Gold |
0.70x |
| Iron |
0.85x |
| Diamond |
1.00x |
| Netherite |
1.12x |
| Special / Unique |
1.00x |
Default balance caps and rules:
- Offhand stat efficiency:
50%
- Max total ATK SPD from relics:
+25%
- Max total Move SPD from relics:
+20%
- Jump Boost is handled as a custom jump-height bonus
📍Set bonuses

Wear matching armor to activate 2-piece and 4-piece bonuses.
Default material sets:
| Set |
2-Piece |
4-Piece |
| Leather |
+5% HP |
+10% HP, +5% DEF |
| Iron |
+10% DEF |
+15% DEF, +5% ATK |
| Gold |
+15% Luck |
+20% Luck, +10% Crit DMG |
| Diamond |
+8% ATK |
+12% ATK, +8% Crit Rate |
| Netherite |
+10% ATK |
+15% ATK, +5% Crit Rate, +10% Crit DMG |
| Chainmail |
+8% DEF |
+12% DEF, +3% Move SPD |
| Turtle |
+10% HP |
+15% HP, +5% DEF |
Extra support:
- custom item-based sets through
set_bonuses.json
- automatic fallback archetypes for unknown modded armor materials
- fallback archetype pool includes: Crit Slayer, Berserker, Guardian, Swift Striker, Vitality, Balanced
📍Phantom weapon slots

Phantom slots let you use weapon relic stats without actively holding that weapon.
Features:
- Phantom Mainhand
- Phantom Offhand
- left-click to place or take a weapon
- right-click to toggle active/inactive
- active phantom weapons override the real hand's relic-stat source
- only valid weapon-type items can be placed there
- phantom items drop on death unless
keepInventory is enabled
Safety behavior:
- phantom interaction can be combat-locked for a configurable number of seconds
- while a phantom hand is active, the mod blocks equipping another weapon into that same real hand
- the combat lock badge position can be configured in common config
📍Stat summary screen

Press I by default to open the Stat Summary screen.
It shows:
- total Crit Rate / Crit DMG
- offensive, defensive, and utility totals
- equipped relic overview
- active set bonuses
- phantom-slot-aware stat sources

📍Recycling
Use /srs recycle while holding a leveled relic to destroy it and get back Tier 3 Aster Cores.
Default refund:
- 60% of invested relic EXP
- output is converted into Tier 3 Aster Cores
- recycling is blocked in Creative Mode
- the mod validates the held item again before confirming the recycle, to prevent exploits
📍Configuration
The mod is highly configurable for servers and modpacks.
