Realistic Deposits

Rare, massive and geologically aware ore deposits powered by MMD OreSpawn.

Realistic Deposits is an optional expansion for MMD OreSpawn. It is designed for players and modpack authors who want mineral resources to occur in enormous but exceptionally rare deposits, turning mining into a search for valuable geological discoveries rather than a steady supply of small, evenly distributed veins.

Planned generation modes

Realistic Deposits will support several levels of geological integration:

• Massive and Rare - very large deposits distributed independently across suitable dimensions and biomes.
• Geome Aware - deposits influenced by OreSpawn geomes and their geological character.
• Rock Aware - deposits restricted to appropriate rock families or specific host rocks.
• Configurable Policies - additive, hybrid and replacement options for controlling how massive deposits interact with ordinary ore generation.

Configuration and compatibility

The mod will be configuration-driven and designed to support both vanilla and modded resources.

Planned built in compatibility includes the MMD family of mods, such as:

• Mineralogy
• Base Metals
• Modern Metals
• Base Minerals
• Base Gems

Compatibility will use registered blocks, tags and OreSpawn's public world-generation contracts wherever the target Minecraft version permits it. Missing optional mods will not prevent Realistic Deposits from loading.

Relationship with OreSpawn

MMD OreSpawn is a required dependency.

OreSpawn remains responsible for world profiles, geomes, geology and normal configurable ore generation. Realistic Deposits adds a specialised massive deposit layer that can use that geological information without changing OreSpawn's existing configuration formats.

Version plans

Initial development targets Minecraft 1.10.2 with Forge. Later releases are planned to follow the maintained MMD OreSpawn branches through newer Forge and NeoForge versions.

Features and configuration formats may evolve during early development. Back up important worlds before testing development or alpha releases.
