What's new in v5.4 (far portals, Portal 2 look, Sodium fix)
- Far portals. Shoot a portal up to 800 blocks away and walk through it.
- Sideways portals. If a wall has no room for an upright portal, it is placed sideways on the same wall. Portals can no longer overlap.
- Portal 2 crosshair. Two crescents, blue and orange. Each one fills in when that portal is open.
- Gun polish. The gun's light takes the colour of the last portal fired, and the claws move when you fire or grab.
- Smooth robots. Turrets, Wheatley and GLaDOS have new rounded models. Turrets open up and show their guns when armed.
- Deeper test chambers. Chambers sit well underground with a ladder shaft down from the entrance, and entrances are at least 6 chunks apart.
- Sodium fix. Parts of the world no longer turn invisible near open portals.
- Players and mobs seen through a portal move smoothly, corner portals show each other, and floor buttons need a cube.
What's new in v5.3 (Sodium fix)
- Works with Sodium. Portals showed only the swirl when Sodium was installed. The live view now works with Sodium and Distant Horizons.
What's new in v5.2 (bigger, twistier test chambers)

- Rooms vary in size. Every chamber gets its own length, width and ceiling height.
- Dungeons turn. The exit door can be ahead, on the left wall or on the right wall, so every dungeon has a different shape.
- Side rooms. Some chambers keep part of the puzzle in a side room. Some side rooms sit behind a window, and only a portal gets you in.
- Difficulty grows about 25% per room. Later rooms mix ledges, pits, faith plates, more buttons and more turrets.
- Dungeons are protected. Walls, doors, floor buttons, faith plates and ladders inside a dungeon cannot be mined, blown up, pushed or picked up with the gun.
- The light mast on the entrance building is gone.
- Portal shots pass through glass, glass panes and iron bars.
- Fixed being pushed through the wrong portal when two portals share a corner block.
- Fixed double shots: both triggers share one short cooldown.
- Dungeon entrances are more common, and
/portalgun locateprints the nearest one.

What's new in v5 (Test Chambers)
- Test chamber dungeons. White entrance buildings generate on the surface in new chunks. Walk in, climb down, and solve 5 to 15 puzzle rooms in a row. Rooms are random, so no two dungeons are the same, and each room is harder than the last. A reward chest waits in the last room, and long dungeons end with a boss.
- Turret, Wheatley and GLaDOS. Turrets fire at survival players who cross their laser. Wheatley follows you and talks. GLaDOS is a boss with 150 health.
- Test chamber gear. Weighted Storage Cube, Weighted Companion Cube, Floor Button (redstone signal while a cube or player is on it), Aerial Faith Plate and Long Fall Boots.
- Recursive portal view. Two portals that face each other show the view inside the view.
- New portal gun model with three claws that open when you carry something.
- The gun no longer dips when you fire the orange portal.
- Carried blocks and mobs move smoothly, stay in your grip through portals, and carried grass and plants are no longer invisible.
- Portal glow on stone at night is about 18% dimmer.

Performance
Portal views render at half resolution with a 6 chunk view distance by default, so the mod runs well on handhelds such as the ROG Ally and Steam Deck. For sharper views on a strong PC, add these JVM arguments: -Dportalgun.viewScale=1.0 -Dportalgun.viewDistance=10
