Tale of Kingdoms: a full RPG inside Minecraft
This is SamB440's classic Tale of Kingdoms, revived for Minecraft 26.2 (Fabric). It turns survival into a long-term role-playing campaign. You have a name, a guild to prove yourself to, gold to earn, and a ruined kingdom that is waiting for its king.
Requires: Fabric Loader, Fabric API and owo-lib.
Your story starts on the first day
When you create a new world, the people ask what they shall call you. Choose a name and the world generates the Guild castle, your starting point. Talk to the Guildmaster, sign the contract and begin to earn the Guild's trust.
Rise from recruit to king
- Worthiness and quests. Hunt the monsters that trouble the land, prove your worth to the Guildmaster and unlock more of the world.
- Gold economy. Earn coins from kills and work. Store them safely with the Banker, and spend them at the item, block and food shops.
- Hire an army. Recruit knights and hunters who fight at your side.
- Daily bread. The Farmer gives you food every day, so you can survive from the moment you arrive.
- Build your kingdom. Found your own kingdom, collect taxes from its people and defend it when the Reficules attack.
- A living world. A lost city spawns within about 1700 blocks of your start. Its houses fill with citizens, shopkeepers and guards over the first week, and villagers wander its streets.
Play it with friends
This port was rebuilt for multiplayer. It works in singleplayer, over "Open to LAN" and on dedicated servers. Every player has their own gold and progress, and all Guild NPCs work for every player, not only the host.
What this revival adds
- Server-side saves that no longer reset or disappear after a few days of play.
- The castle blends into the terrain instead of floating on a cliff edge.
- Missing Guild NPCs repair themselves when you return to the castle.
- A brand-new world always gets a fresh start, even if it has the same name as an old world.
Tips
- Always open a Tale of Kingdoms world with the mod installed. Without the mod, Minecraft deletes the mod's NPCs from the save.
- Found a bug? Leave a comment with your log and I will look at it.
All credit for the original mod goes to SamB440 and the Convallyria team. This revival only ports and repairs it for modern Minecraft.
Donations are never required, but they help me keep reviving mods like this one. If you would like to support the work, see my Patreon: https://patreon.com/123black. Sharing the mod with friends helps just as much.
