Description

Predator Missile
Predator Missile is a standalone mod that lets you fly a missile through its onboard thermal camera.
Hold the targeter to launch, then point the camera where you want the missile to go. Version 3.0 rebuilt the flight controls, multiplayer syncing, collision checks, and chunk loading so the missile responds directly and keeps working far from the player.
Standalone mod: Immersive Aircraft is not required. Outside Creative mode, the targeter is consumed after a successful launch unless the server disables item consumption. Each player can guide one missile at a time.
Features
- Direct mouse steering: the missile follows the camera without the old delayed input
- Thermal camera positioned ahead of the missile, so its model does not block your view
- Connected, weak-signal, link-lost, and failsafe states
- Smooth local movement backed by server-authoritative guidance in multiplayer
- Swept collision checks that catch blocks and entities between ticks
- Chunk loading that follows the missile and restores the player's normal view afterward
- Target markers only for entities the camera can actually see
- Standard, high-yield, and clean warheads with different handling and damage
- Abort guidance and manually detonate after the warhead is armed
- Custom missile model, launch and impact audio, smoke, fire, explosions, and camera shake
How to use
- Craft or obtain a Predator Missile Targeter.
- Aim where the missile should enter, then hold use to arm and launch it.
- Your view switches to the missile camera once the feed is ready.
- Move the mouse to aim; the missile turns toward the camera direction.
- Guide it to impact. Press G to detonate once armed, or X to abort guidance.
Distance, blocked signal, missing control packets, or leaving the server can weaken or break the link. If the connection is not recovered, guidance ends and the missile enters its timed failsafe.
Warheads
- Standard Warhead — balanced speed, handling, blast, and terrain damage
- High-Yield Warhead — heavier and slower to turn, with the largest explosion
- Clean Warhead — faster handling and entity damage without block damage
Survival and multiplayer
- The targeter is consumed after a successful launch outside Creative mode unless disabled by the server.
- Creative-mode players retain the targeter.
- Each player can control one active missile at a time, and servers can limit the total number of active missiles.
- For multiplayer, install the mod on both the client and server.
Installation
- Download the file matching your Minecraft version and mod loader.
- Install Fabric API when using Fabric.
- Place the Predator Missile file in your Minecraft
modsfolder. - For multiplayer, install the same compatible version on the server.
Compatibility
- Minecraft 1.20.1: Fabric and Forge
- Minecraft 1.21.1: Fabric and NeoForge
- Java: Java 17 for Minecraft 1.20.1; Java 21 for Minecraft 1.21.1
- Fabric: Fabric API required
- Environment: Client and server
Version 3.0.0 has builds for the four combinations listed above. There is no Minecraft 1.21.11 build. The Forge 1.20.1 build no longer injects into ChunkMap.move, fixing the reported Radium Reforged conflict and the disappearing-chunk problem during guidance.
