Realistic Takeoff
Realistic Takeoff changes takeoff behavior for Immersive Aircraft.
Aircraft now require a proper runway roll before rotation, followed by smoother liftoff and a controlled initial climb. Takeoff behavior adapts to the aircraft's engine, acceleration, lift, mass, pitch speed, passengers, and cargo.
After the initial climb, the controller disengages and the aircraft returns to its normal Immersive Aircraft handling.
Required: This is an add-on. Immersive Aircraft must also be installed.
Features
- Minimum runway roll before rotation
- Aircraft-specific rotation speed and takeoff timing
- Progressive pitch authority at low speed
- Smooth lift and thrust transition during liftoff
- Runway-direction stability at higher speeds
- Initial-climb assistance when pitching too aggressively
- Optional passenger and cargo weight effects
- Fallback behavior for slow or low-powered aircraft
- Normal taxi handling at lower throttle
- Support for compatible Immersive Aircraft add-on planes
Takeoff sequence
- Ready — normal ground and taxi handling
- Runway Roll — acceleration and lift remain limited while speed builds
- Rotate — pitch authority and lift progressively increase
- Liftoff — the aircraft transitions smoothly away from the runway
- Initial Climb — normal control authority returns gradually
- Flight — the takeoff controller disengages completely
Presets
- Balanced — shorter runway and transition times
- Realistic — longer runway roll with gradual rotation and liftoff
- Cinematic — extended transitions for slower takeoff sequences
Heavy, slow, or loaded aircraft may require more runway. Fast aircraft can reach rotation speed early but cannot bypass the selected minimum runway roll.
HUD and configuration
The optional HUD can display:
- Current takeoff stage
- Aircraft speed
- Calculated rotation speed
- Current stage progress
The following settings can be configured:
- Runway-roll duration
- Rotation and liftoff duration
- Initial-climb duration
- Acceleration limits
- Rotation speed
- Pitch smoothing
- Runway stability
- Initial-climb assistance
- Payload effects
- HUD position and visibility

Aircraft using the shared Immersive Aircraft airplane system can also receive adaptive takeoff behavior.
Realistic Landing compatibility
Realistic Takeoff and Realistic Landing can be installed together.
Realistic Takeoff handles runway acceleration, rotation, liftoff, and initial climb. Realistic Landing handles approach, flare, touchdown, rollout, and taxi.
