About the mod
Camera Zoom transforms the fixed Immersive Aircraft third-person camera into a smooth, adjustable system built for aircraft of every size.
Choose a close view for precise flying, pull back for large aircraft, switch instantly between cinematic presets, or let the camera respond subtly to your speed. Camera Zoom also remembers a separate view for every aircraft type.
Important: Camera Zoom is a client-side add-on and is not a standalone mod. Immersive Aircraft must also be installed.
Camera Zoom 2.0
- Smooth eased zoom transitions instead of sudden camera jumps
- Tap controls for precise steps or hold them for continuous zoom
- Close, Standard, Wide, and Cinematic camera presets
- Separate remembered camera distance for every aircraft type
- Optional speed-responsive camera pullback
- Smooth recovery after walls or obstacles push the camera closer
- Compact fading HUD showing the preset, distance, and speed bonus
- Configurable camera behavior, presets, memory, and HUD placement
- Support for compatible Immersive Aircraft add-on vehicles
Controls
- Page Up: Move the camera farther away
- Page Down: Move the camera closer
- Home: Reset to the standard aircraft view
- End: Cycle through the four camera presets
Tap Page Up or Page Down for individual steps, or hold either key for smooth continuous movement. Every control can be changed in Minecraft's keybind settings.
Aircraft memory
Your preferred distance is saved separately for each aircraft type and restored when you return. Switching between a compact plane, a large airliner, and a helicopter no longer means readjusting the camera every time.
Remembered views persist after dismounting, changing perspective, and restarting the game.
Dynamic camera
Camera Zoom can gently pull the view back as an aircraft gains speed, then smoothly return to your selected distance while slowing down. This effect is intentionally subtle and can be adjusted or disabled completely.
Configuration
Settings are generated in config/camera-zoom.properties after the first launch.
You can adjust zoom limits, step size, held-key timing and speed, transition smoothing, aircraft memory, all four preset distances, dynamic zoom, HUD duration, HUD anchor, and HUD offsets.
Installation
- Download the file matching your Minecraft version and mod loader
- Install Immersive Aircraft
- Fabric users must also install Fabric API
- Place the Camera Zoom file in your Minecraft
modsfolder
Camera Zoom is client-side only and does not normally need to be installed on a dedicated server.
Requirements
- Minecraft 1.20.1: Fabric or Forge
- Minecraft 1.21.1: Fabric or NeoForge
- Minecraft 1.21.11: Fabric or NeoForge
- Required mod: Immersive Aircraft
- Fabric releases require Fabric API
- Java 17 for Minecraft 1.20.1
- Java 21 or newer for Minecraft 1.21.x
Compatibility
Camera Zoom is not locked to one exact Immersive Aircraft release. Download the file matching your Minecraft version and loader; it is designed to remain compatible with Immersive Aircraft releases for that Minecraft version while the vehicle camera system remains compatible.
The camera system also supports compatible planes, helicopters, and other vehicles from Immersive Aircraft add-ons.
