Choose the view that fits your aircraft
Camera Zoom adds smooth, adjustable third-person camera control to Immersive Aircraft. Move closer for precise flying and landings, or pull farther back for a clearer view around large planes and helicopters.
Choose from four useful presets, save a different distance for every aircraft type, or let the camera pull back subtly with speed. Smooth obstacle recovery restores your selected view after a wall or other obstruction clears.
Required: This is a client-side add-on, not a standalone mod. Immersive Aircraft must also be installed.
Why use Camera Zoom?
- Smooth camera movement — eased transitions replace sudden changes in camera distance.
- Fast, precise controls — tap for individual zoom steps or hold for continuous movement.
- Four camera presets — cycle between Close, Standard, Wide, and Cinematic views.
- Per-aircraft memory — your preferred distance is saved separately for every aircraft type and restored after restarting the game.
- Optional dynamic camera — add a subtle speed-responsive pullback that smoothly returns while slowing down.
- Fully configurable — adjust zoom limits, controls, smoothing, presets, memory, dynamic zoom, and the compact fading HUD in config/camera-zoom.properties.
Simple controls
- Page Up — tap to move farther away in steps, or hold for continuous zooming out.
- Page Down — tap to move closer in steps, or hold for continuous zooming in.
- Home — smoothly reset to the standard aircraft view.
- End — cycle through the Close, Standard, Wide, and Cinematic presets.
Every control can be changed in Minecraft's keybind settings and applies while riding a compatible Immersive Aircraft vehicle in third-person view.
Installation
- Download the file matching your Minecraft version and mod loader.
- Install Immersive Aircraft.
- When using Fabric, also install Fabric API.
- Place the Camera Zoom file in your Minecraft
modsfolder.
Camera Zoom is client-side and normally does not need to be installed on a dedicated server. Its settings file is generated at config/camera-zoom.properties after the first launch.
Compatibility
- Minecraft: 1.20.1, 1.21.1, and 1.21.11
- 1.20.1 loaders: Fabric and Forge
- 1.21.x loaders: Fabric and NeoForge
- Java: Java 17 for 1.20.1; Java 21 or newer for 1.21.x
- Environment: Client-side
Because Camera Zoom works with the shared Immersive Aircraft vehicle system, compatible aircraft from other add-ons can use the same controls and receive their own saved camera profile. For Forge 1.20.1, use Camera Zoom 2.0.1, which fixes the startup crash in the earlier 2.0.0 Forge file; the current files for the other supported version and loader combinations are 2.0.0.
