Changelog

Ghostworks-2026.07.30_MC_26.2_v4.1.0.jar

Changes since Ghostworks-2026.07.26-v3.0.0.

Meet the Village Gecko

  • Added the Gecko, a completely new harmless creature that lives around the outer edges of villages.
  • Every village receives its own persistent Gecko, chosen from eight color variants including fern, jade, river, golden, rust, lilac, and ash.
  • A newly encountered Gecko will be chewing on a random vanilla tool or armor piece made from wood, stone, leather, chainmail, gold, or iron.
  • Gecko equipment is always heavily damaged and marked as gnawed, so the encounter cannot provide players with free new equipment.
  • Added the Leaf Worm, an apple-strength food item that has an apple-like chance to drop when leaves are broken. Fortune improves the chance, while Shears and Silk Touch prevent the drop.
  • Right-clicking a Gecko with a Leaf Worm makes it drop the equipment in its mouth and begin chewing the worm instead.
  • Wielding or wearing equipment recovered from a Gecko grants Haste I.
  • Added new old-villager dialogue that introduces the creatures through stories about feeding them, missing village equipment, and sightings near the edge of town.
  • Added a dedicated Gecko spawn egg.
  • The Gecko has a custom low-bodied model, a patterned hide, a sand-colored belly, a long curved tail, animated legs, and a sideways item held across its mouth.

Pixie Botanica

  • Added the Pixie Botanica, a handheld flower-transmutation device.
  • Right-clicking it opens a menu with one slot for Pixie Dust and another for any flower.
  • Players complete a transmutation by connecting dots in the correct shape.
  • Added an in-menu recipe book for browsing flower patterns and Pixie Dust costs.
  • Compatible tagged flowers are discovered automatically, including flowers added by other mods.

Swarmblossom and the Viridian Hive

  • Gave the Swarmblossom its own luminous viridian-and-gold design.
  • Added the Swarmblossom Colossus, a stationary five-block-tall boss that can appear in swamps and mangrove swamps.
  • The Colossus attacks by releasing groups of hostile Viridian Swarm Bees and sends larger swarms when badly wounded.
  • Added the craftable Viridian Hive Staff, which launches four temporary green bees toward a targeted enemy.
  • Added diamond-tier Viridian Hive Armor with a flower crown, layered carapace, honeycomb and petal plating, leaf faulds, rooted boots, and a detailed undersuit.
  • Wearing the complete Viridian Hive Armor set roughly doubles crop growth within a seven-block radius.

Visual Reworks

  • Gave Holy, Leaf, and Starlight Pixie armor distinctive raised in-world models and detailed worn undersuits while preserving their inventory icons.
  • Reworked the Moon-Eater's eyes, jaw animation, and ground alignment.
  • Redesigned the Moon-Eater Staff as a larger 32-pixel crescent-tipped weapon and removed the small center ornament.
  • Added a dedicated Moon-Eater spawn egg.
  • Rebuilt the Petrified Scarecrow with deep three-dimensional eye sockets, recessed ember pupils, a crooked nose, a toothed stitched mouth, layered ribs, straw claws, torn sleeves, and a more threatening hat.

Ghostworks-2026.07.26-v3.0.0

Changes since Ghostworks-2026.07.24-v2.0.1.jar.

Added

  • Added the Tree Library at -2000, -2000: a separate ethereal castle woven through a colossal tree, with archives, bridges, roots, owls, and a crown arena.
  • Added the Cursed King, a three-phase tree guardian and former Fairy Queen general:
    • Root-arm melee, branch volleys, living vines, collapsing living architecture, rafter owls, root strikes, blinding leaves, and platform-pushing wind.
    • Added the Totem of Satisfaction and the upgradeable Colossal Root Hammer rewards.
  • Added boss revival rites:
    • Cursed Blocks, Revival Ether, a 9x9 four-corner ritual, offering chest, ten-second consumption sequence, and shared reward chest.
    • Sentinel and Cursed King rites require their original guardian to be defeated and can only be performed near their own castle regions.
    • Mosskeepers can provide Revival Ether.
  • Added the Stillveil Aegis and the 24-hour logged-in stillness challenge, including owner data, hostile-mob veil behavior, progress updates, and the Still as the Forgotten advancement.
  • Added the Forsaken Miner, a one-time abandoned-mineshaft Pixie Dust trader with limited ore trades, farewell effects, ambient mineshaft behavior, and a custom model.
  • Added Skeleton Miners: torn-clothed, pale-blue mining undead with iron-pick attacks, themed drops, and dedicated spawn eggs.
  • Added magical wildlife and ambient life: Lantern Wisps, Moonwing Moths, River Nixies, Fae Foxes, Fireflies, Dragonflies, Duscap Mushlings, and green forest Mushlings.
  • Added Fae Moon events and Curse Pressure, which makes nearby cursed threats more dangerous as corruption gathers around a player.
  • Added expanded old-villager oral history, including different village rumors about the Forsaken Miner, missing pages, the Stillveil Aegis, and the Cursed King.
  • Added more than ten lore leaves and boss-related lore sources across guides, encounters, and village stories.
  • Added Luma floating naps, sleepy hovering, wake and companion sounds, and persistent nap timing.

Changed

  • Ported Ghostworks to Minecraft 26.2 and NeoForge 26.2, including the new vanilla entity, color, copper, and client GUI APIs.
  • Reworked the Ghostworks Guide into grouped chapters with a compact Lore Leaves entry, named leaf index cards, clearer ritual diagrams, and spoiler-aware ritual pages.
  • Reframed the Fae history as conflicting testimony across the Guide, restored leaves, village stories, guardian dialogue, Luma's requests, and the End rite; added a Tree Library lore chapter and new recognition dialogue connecting Luma to the returning Vengeful Fae without resolving the archive's central mystery.
  • Established recurring Vengeful Fae apparitions and their living light-tethers, guardian mana carried by mortal victors, the First Evil's final demand for the player's soul, and the Voidborn as an independent End faction whose Voidling Hatchlings are ordinary bonded pets.
  • Moved the King's and Vengeful Fae's recognition of Luma into discovery-locked "Fresh Ink" guide pages, added the King's response to a carried Bloom Wand or completed apparition encounter, and explained apparition rewards as cast light condensed into matter.
  • In multiplayer, the First Evil's finishing Voidling selects only the pet owned by the player whose decisive hit opened the final phase; sacrifice and rebirth messages remain private to that owner.
  • Added First Evil taunts that acknowledge returning players and multiple mortal challengers during the final encounter.
  • Clarified that the final rite marks the player's soul beyond ordinary respawn protection, delayed the King's and crowned apparition's shared implication until both are witnessed, extended the King's relic reaction into combat, and shared post-apparition discoveries with nearby witnesses.
  • Softened the old villagers' Luma testimony into rumor and uncanny detail rather than direct historical confirmation.
  • Clarified the two valid final paths: a player without a Voidling can shatter the manifestation and collapse the unfinished soul rite, while a bonded Voidling enables the optional sacrifice and Radiant rebirth ending.
  • Redesigned the Moon-Eater as a sixteen-block articulated serpent with luminous crescent eyes and moon-fin armor. Its Snake-style locomotion records a fixed-distance trail behind the head; eight visual joints and multipart hit zones smoothly interpolate through older points along that exact route instead of rotating with the main body. It patrols its cavern perimeter while undisturbed, redirects only the head when pursuing a player, continues forward when passing close targets, crosses two-block steps, turns at a controlled speed, and uses one-time phase dialogue. At 25% health it grows animated wings, circles the low air above its den, and launches poison splash volleys. Its landmark at 2000, -2000 is a natural hollow mountain den with a split summit, broad level stone arena, dry river scars, eroded stone formations, moss, and crystals. The guardian rejects damage until its scales burn red, attacks with river bursts, recognizes an impossible detail in Luma's reflection, drops a Moon-Eater Staff, appears in the Guide and Bossfinder Compass, and supports corner-region revival rites.
  • Expanded the Moon-Eater encounter with Coil Prison, player-breakable moon-scale armor, and wing-phase Venom Constellations whose white star opens a safe circle before the poison nova. Its cavern now contains four moon obelisks, broken crescent walls, river shrines, and a flush central moon dial while preserving the serpent's patrol lane and open coiling space.
  • Confined the Moon-Eater's pursuit, coils, flight orbit, and constellation points to its arena; animated its jaw, brows, breathing face, and phase-reactive tongue; and added a staged terrain-following mountain foundation for uneven worlds. Existing landmarks migrate once to foundation layout version 5.
  • Added dedicated mono positional audio for the Moon-Eater's melee attack, Coil Prison tail strike, scale rattle, and death.
  • Separated the Moon-Eater's head tracking from its spine so the face cannot twist backward with the body, clamped its look angles, and added full-body traveling waves, attack whips, Coil Prison compression, constellation corkscrews, damage ripples, fin quivers, stronger wing beats, and an animated tail tip.
  • Protected player builds from the three large landmarks: each now scans its entire footprint for loaded or previously saved chunks before construction, moves 512 blocks farther along its original diagonal until untouched chunks are found, persists the resolved center for compasses and rituals, and never applies block-rebuilding migrations to completed landmarks.
  • Reduced Luma's unsolicited companion chatter from every 45–90 seconds to a calmer randomized 2–4 minute interval while preserving quest, warning, sleep, and wake feedback.
  • Removed all generated water from the Moon-Eater landmark and bumped its saved layout version so existing lairs rebuild once with the dry, flattened central arena.
  • Removed explicit Moon-Eater combat coaching from blocked hits, the Bossfinder Compass, and the Guide. Its river burst is now the named kill move Moonfall Torrent, while its melee strike is Crescent Rend; both use dedicated death messages instead of vanilla magic damage wording.
  • Rebalanced every major boss's melee and special-attack damage so armor remains effective. Extreme burst attacks were reduced, repeated spin hits were spaced farther apart, and existing saved bosses reconcile to the new values when loaded.
  • Rebuilt the Moon-Eater's face with a narrower skull, framed forward-facing glow eyes, an open lower jaw, visible luminous fangs, and an animated forked red tongue. Its wing phase now uses swept bones and four progressively shorter panels per side for a tapered, serrated silhouette instead of rectangular slabs.
  • Moonfall Torrent and Crescent Rend now require a clear line of sight both when the Moon-Eater begins an attack and when damage is applied, preventing either move from striking players through solid terrain.
  • Replaced the Moon-Eater Fang reward with the Moon-Eater Staff while retaining the original registry id for existing saves. Right-clicking fires an armor-piercing Undertow Bolt; a successful hit has a 70% chance to dislodge one equipped armor piece from a non-player mob and drop it intact.
  • Boss names and revival offerings remain hidden until the matching castle has been reached.
  • Expanded and retuned the Ruined Castle, its lower floors, surrounding greenery, sentinel population, rewards, music behavior, and mountain footing.
  • Reworked the Cursed King model and texture with layered heartwood, crown roots, vines, nests, mushrooms, and glowing emerald eyes.
  • Refined the Forsaken Miner, Fae Queen, Vengeful Fae, Gobbling, Echo Fawn, Fae Fox, Nixie, and spawn egg visual designs.
  • Rebalanced trader prices and added new lore-focused progression hints to the Bossfinder Compass and guide.

Fixed

  • Prevented Coil Prison and its transition into the winged phase from routing the Moon-Eater's head back through its delayed body trail.
  • Fixed Cursed King branch volleys crashing on modern arrow weapon validation.
  • Fixed Cursed King repeated combat dialogue.
  • Fixed missing modern item definitions for Revival Ether and Cursed Block textures.
  • Fixed custom shield blocking behavior and bow enchantability.
  • Fixed Luma/castle music volume handling and several positional sound issues.
  • Reduced duplicate boss, Fae Ruin, and ambient entity spawning issues.

Changes since Ghostworks-2026.07.18-v1.3.0.jar.

Added

  • Added the Ruined Castle as a major fixed-world landmark:
    • Multi-level ruined towers, courtyards, dungeons, arches, wooden structures, froglights, supported flowers, and lived-in remnants.
    • Dense rooftop and exterior overgrowth, a wall-breaking giant oak, and organic leaf paths that double as climbable routes between upper levels.
    • Terrain-aware bridge supports and a climbable approach when the castle forms against steep mountain terrain.
    • Fifteen-block interior Darkness fog that remains until the Sentinel Overlord is defeated.
  • Added the Sentinel Overlord castle encounter and persistent victory state.
  • Added Leafbound Pouncers: quiet, leaf-camouflaged, cave-spider-sized ambushers that spawn around the castle and use knockback rather than poison.
  • Added expanded modern-and-archaic guide lore, including indirect early hints toward the castle without revealing its coordinates.
  • Added eleven escalating Sandai Kitetsu hunger messages across its pedestal progression.
  • Added the Gobbling, a chicken-sized passive scavenger that seeks reachable ground items, chews them, and permanently cleans them from the world.
    • Gobblings spawn wherever vanilla chickens do, at chicken spawn weight, in groups of two to four.
    • Added ambient, eating, hurt, and death sound placeholders; idle, walking, looking, and eating animation states; breeding, naming, leashing, a spawn egg, and an empty loot table.
    • Gobblings excitedly wag their tails when a nearby player holds an item and produce one iron nugget after a persistent random interval of four to nine meals.
    • Gobblings now consume exactly one unit from a dropped stack at the end of each full eating animation; additional units require additional complete chew cycles.
    • Other mods and datapacks can protect drops with the ghostworks:gobbling_immune item tag or the ghostworks:gobbling_protected ItemEntity marker.
  • Added the Echo Fawn, a rare, harmless spectral animal found alone in forests and taigas.
    • Echo Fawns travel toward the Ruined Castle using short, terrain-aware pathfinding steps, subtly guiding explorers without revealing its coordinates.
    • An Echo Fawn vanishes in portal motes with an Enderman teleport sound when it reaches the castle outskirts or whenever it is struck, including by a projectile.
    • Echo Fawns have an original animated model and texture, a spawn egg, natural spawning, and an empty loot table.
  • Added release GameTests for Sandai awakening, Demon Slayer summoning, duplicate-boss protection, saved castle victory state, fog boundaries, and castle entity attributes.
  • Added Gobbling GameTests covering health, harmlessness, permanent item consumption, protected-drop handling, one-item-per-animation stack handling, and randomized iron-nugget production.
  • Added an Echo Fawn GameTest covering the castle-arrival boundary and harm-triggered disappearance.

Changed

  • Enlarged and redesigned the Gobbling with a stronger mottled texture, animated ears and tail, rounded cheeks, and an oversized articulated mouth with a visible cavity, teeth, and tongue.
  • Enriched the Gobbling skin with layered leaf clusters, organic vein markings, moss highlights, warm freckles, belly scallops, and detailed ears, tail, and feet.
  • Replaced the Gobbling spawn egg artwork with a shaded, leafy, speckled design featuring its expressive face.
  • Removed the castle roof and replaced its upper floor with heavy, abandoned overgrowth.
  • Reworked exterior leaves into thicker, twisting, walkway-like growth with cracked and mossy masonry transitions.
  • Slowed the Sentinel Overlord and retained its articulated movement.
  • Expanded the castle decoration with arches, timber, lighting, gardens, and corrected furniture orientation.
  • Updated the build workflow to Java 25 and made required GameTests part of continuous integration.
  • Restricted declared Minecraft and NeoForge compatibility to the tested 26.1 release line.

Fixed

  • Fixed unsupported flowers breaking or floating by ensuring decorative plants have valid dirt or soil beneath them.
  • Fixed castle fog persisting after the Sentinel Overlord dies.
  • Fixed sparse or flat exterior greenery that did not provide useful climbing routes.
  • Fixed the bridge becoming inaccessible when the castle generates against mountain terrain.
  • Fixed the Gloam Butcher being announced without both of its leashed wolves when nearby terrain blocked the original fixed spawn points.
  • Removed exact castle coordinates from player-facing discovery hints.
